Hunter I have never had exotic drops just bounties Titan I have always gets the exotics even for other classes Warlock never gets armour drops of any description. Imagine every weapon having a percentage drop attached to your character: some exotics will have a .05% and others will have .01% That's how I imagine it works, each time you create a character it's assigned a number and within that number you have specific chances of getting certain drops, that's where it's random.
