There is a very good reason that some people keep getting the same exotic drops.
It's random
• no, that's like rolling a dice and getting 6's every time. the odds don't add up. sure, it's plausible to get all 6's for an X amount of rolls, but that is a loooong stretch. and then it happens to so many people, i just doesn't add up.

 • If 5 million people are rolling the dice, some of them are probably going to get a few 6s in a row

 • maybe a dice was a bad example, cause it has only got 6 possible outcomes. now consider all the possible loot in Destiny... that's says something else

 • Agreed. It would be like rolling the same number on a 50 sided die over and over. It would be super rare, not all over these forums. Just because 5 million people do something, that doesn't mean there will be five million different outcomes. There's something called probability that factors into each roll and that all but rules out getting the same item repeatedly out of a large pool.

 • Exactly, there are many possible outcomes. In Destiny, you're rolling a dice with dozens of sides hoping for one or two outcomes. It's very likely that you're going to roll some duplicates before you finally get all of your desired weapons.
