Two likely explanations:
1. World consistent : Hands and feet are made up of multiple small bones much more likely to be disturbed and scattered over time.
2. Construction explanation : hands and feet being made up of multiple small bones were deemed to time consuming/difficult to model. (AKA "nobody will notice" explanation)
