Personally i think its a good idea, just so that you can help friends who have just started by giving them materials and weapons you don't use. What do you think?

I agree that you should be able to trade. It should be a trade not giving away like people are thinking. It would break the game to give some one a bunch of legendary and exotic for literally nothing. But if you are trading a legendary for a legendary or a exotic for an exotic, i see no way this can ruin the game. For example my buddy has a gally and i have a vex. He has been farming HVoG over 40 times and still does not have it. I have been farming hard raids for the gally and praying that xur, by some miracle, is selling it. It would be fair to trade my exotic vex for his exotic gally. Now the trade some strange coins or glimmer to your friends for the gear would break the game because at that point you would be giving away the gear. But there should definitely be something to do with ascendant materials. Seriously what am i going to do with 200+ ascendant shards? Maybe make it where you can buy them from your friends like one strange coin for 5 ascendant materials. Now with the people afraid of selling the exotics on pay pal if it is the trade an exotic for an exotic this would discourage the pay pal peeps, not completely get rid of it. Why would a person buy an exotic with actual money when they have to give up an exotic as well, again it will discourage not crush the idea. These types will always prevail, they have done it/currently doing it in WoW, they are currently doing it for HCE, and they will most likely do it for the upcoming content as well. Of course this is just my opinion for a working player trading. But if someone in bungie reads this, if you do player trading do it right or not at all.

I think it would be a good idea, but not quite yet, I don't think the game inventory is assume enough to require trading(even if it would help me get my hands on the elusive Gjallarhorn!) That's why I think the legendary and exotic weaponry should be upgraded not necessarily the armour, but the weapons at least, just to improve the diversity of weapons used...

what this would start is pay to win. Websites would be selling the gear off. I personally like the no trade but fully shared vault idea wish it was in many other games. Although I am not saying I like the rng here.

Good idea

Kid starts game friend gives him every extra exotic he owns . Kid now goes and trades the extra ones he got for the rest of the collection Kid has every exotic in game within 6 hours playing time and garbage as blam! This is why I would NEVER want trading in destiny. Go play the game and pray for rng

I'm going with "bad idea". Initially, I thought a trading system would be good to have, but I've changed my mind. There's not enough weapon variation or challenging end game content. So if you can let players trade to obtain all of their desired gear (I can totally see people selling these items using paypal), there would be far fewer high level guardians grinding day in and day out. Which leads less people around to join randoms for nightfall/weekly/raids. Xur is bad enough with regards to making exotics purchasable (don't get me wrong, I buy from xur too because it's a way around the RNG loot system). Just my 2 cents, trading will hurt destiny.

I've thought the same thing for months and I think its a great idea.. It will have its faults though. If you do that then you'll just have these good at hard people who don't play the game anymore practically give their exotics and legendary away. Maybe it could go on a point system. Every item I'm the game is worth so many points and in order to trade your item points and theirs have to he even. Just a thought but it could work if you could fix all the bugs in it

I think ONLY materials should be trade able, ruins the game otherwise
-
special snowflakes dont want trading thats all im seeing down below either way if it was put it people would complain for a bit and then get over it
-
It would break the game. Think about for a moment and reflect on what people complain about most, next to the lack of story. Content. The whole point of this game is grinding out for hours to pick up exotics. If you brought trading into the picture and then why bother with the raids? The best armor would be available for you to trade... all you need is a friendly high level. And what about that coveted exotic? Yes, the RNG on this game can be very frustrating and at times however it is one of the reason we all go back to the grind every day, every week. It plays upon our natural instincts... rewarding us for playing one more game. Take it away and then what ia the point anymore? Yes, Xur comes every week and practically givea away exptics for next to nothing, however there is no guarantee that it will be something you want or need. TL;DR: Trading would essentially ruin the game and render it pointless.
-
Terrible idea. Xurs 'game ruining' skills would have no chance against a trading system.

-
Please no, thanks
-
Well, as we saw in borderlands, some clever person will find out how to duplicate them and both will walk away with them
-
Terrible

I think they should have trading but no trading raid gear and no trading the weapons you can only obtain through exotic bounties. Also when you trade it gets reset and they have to earn the upgrades themselves. Also bungie said this- "As for swapping irons in the Tower? Nope. We want you to earn ‘em. You should be able to tell a badass story for every sweet jewel in your arsenal. Once you earn them, the various Guardians under your account will be able to trade them, but weapons belong to the players who acquire them through action and bravery." How is I traded a few strange coins for it from Xur any different than I got it from a buddy or some random guy at the tower.
-
If they had it in the beginning, it would have been fine. Now? I see some problems, but it still might work.
-
It has it's pros and cons
-
I lean towards good idea
-
OP=Noob who doesn't get what he wants
-
They should have it but 1 trade a week and you have to have like 40 hours in the game to trade exotics
-
Although it takes a minute, I like player trading. When you get in an lfg group and someone sucks, it's good to kick them and trade them for a new player.
-
Maybe not weapons but I'd love too give my brother and friends some shards or sapphire wire ect
-
Not gonna happen. Too many special snowflakes would cry endlessly if it did.
