The future is unfortunately going to have games practices like these but there are also still developers and publishers which are dedicated to catering to their hardcore fan base.
FromSoft, Naughtydog, NIS, Atlus are all companies which care about what their fans want.
And there is going to be more and more indie games coming to consoles which are mostly made by people who respect those that play their games so I think the future of gaming will do just fine

The only reason the crap model works is because of the hype created by previous good games. Also people will see indie games and switch to them. [spoiler]It's sad when some apps are better than console games[/spoiler]
