Erik flinched as he saw Lake. "Hey..."
-
Lake spoke with a kind of relief he didn't know he possessed. It was like he expected Erik to be nothing more than a hallucination, and he was surprised that he was actually here. Lake had been searching for so long. " I'm so glad I found you. Abby went missing, and I can't find her anywhere. Ever since that one bounty where I had to leave, it's like she disappeared! I figured you would know where to find her, after all, you're her brother."
-
"Yeah. That's me, her brother..." He laughed nervously.
-
" So do you know? I planned to give her something after I got back, but I never got the chance."
-
"She's busy right now, but I can take it to her. If you want."
-
Lake shook his head. " It's a personal item. Besides I haven't seen her in a year. I'd much rather give it to her myself."
-
"At least tell me what it is?"
-
" I was..... I was gonna propose to her."
-
((Erik right now: SHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHIT))
-
((Yup.))
-
Erik sighed.
-
" Well. Do you know where she is or not?"
-
He cleared his throat and shuffled his feet. "She's, uh..." He mumbled something.
-
" Holy shit just spit it out!"
-
"She's dead!!!"
-
Lake's relief quickly turned into confusion and sorrow. He had always given it a though, that maybe she was dead, but he hoped dearly that it wasn't the case. Almost immediately, all he could think of at the moment was revenge. " Who.... Who did.... Who killed her?"
-
"I...I..."
-
" I'm not in the mood goddamnit! Tell me who did it!"
-
"I had to...he forced me..." Erik's shoulders shook.
-
Lake started to put the pieces together. " Don't tell me.... It was you?"
-
"I'm so sorry, Lake. I couldn't stop myself."
-
Edited by IXMMISmokey: 12/15/2015 11:35:51 PM" You're sorry..... You're -blam!-ing sorry?!" Lake punched Erik in the face, hard. It was enough to break his hand, but it didn't matter to him. " I loved her! You were her brother! And all you have to say, is that you're sorry?!"
-
He didn't react. "It wasn't my decision..."
-
Lake sank to his knees. He was broken at this point. I can bring her back. Just join me. A voice called out to him in his head. It was drawing him in, promising him a brighter future. It promised him the power to bring back the one he loved. His Light was diminishing. It was being replaced with something much darker. And he let it happen. " I ought to rip you into pieces."
-
"I know. But that would be disaster. Not just for me, but for the Last City. All these civilians."
