What manner of witchcraft is this?! Sans??? Being active here???? WHAAAAAAAAAAT????????
"Do you have the shot?" Korvic was hanging high off of the ground from a somewhat unstable looking steel beam. Upside down. From his foot. "Yeah, yeah. Target's in sight, don't worry." He glared through his visor down the scope of his rifle. His ghost, Jeeves, was acting as his spotter. His target was a dreg transporting crucial supplies via pike through the forgotten shore. "Target is getting away..." "Relax! I just want to make sure I have a clear shot. Have a little faith." "I'd have more faith if you were right side up..." "It's more of a challenge this way! Besides... Oh, there we go." Korvic pulled the trigger and watched as the dreg's head burst open in a spout of ether. It's lifeless body tumbled on to the ground as the pike crashed into an old, rusting cargo ship. "See? I told you I had the shot." (Open.)

  • So bored. So bored. Soooooo bored. How long has he been lying here? At least 5 hours. This Dreg better get here soon. He was losing patience and fast. "-sigh- I'm no Hunter. Why was I pinned with this job? I'm too old for this. My joints will ache." "You've never had arthritis. You're not that old." "You don't know! I'm over 200!" "True, but your body is aged at 37." "That's old enough." "We're not having this conversation. You have work to do." And his Ghost was right. There he was. Raxis the Disavowed. Somewhat infamous. Closer to the Darkness than most Elinski. Definitely over the whole House of Kings. Were they sailing here? Maybe. That would be wonderful if he could have a good chat with old friends. No time for memories, Jonathan just kill the Dreg, steal his cargo, and bribe the Wolves. Ahhhh the Wolves. They really hated him. After a team of Tower Guardians took out their representatives to the Cosmodrome's Kings, they tried the Rockies Kings. John wouldn't have it. He talked the Kings out of Skolas' master plan. The Wolves incited the Devils. They struck down the Kings. After Rasputin's doomsday weapon went off, John went off grid. The only Kings left that he was friends with were the Atlantians. A powerful group that controlled most of Earth's oceans. He was getting sidetracked. The Dreg was nearly in position. He charged his palm with lightning. Aim for the engine. Take out his mobility. Then- The Dreg's head exploded. The ether spewed out like it was from a spigot. John climbed out his hiding place and investigated the body. The pike was nearby and undamaged. "Appears to have come from 58 degrees Northeast" "Thanks" John scanned the area and saw a glint. Great. Probably from the Tower. Obviously the Dreg was his target. But no one was above cashing a bounty. Especially on him. John decided to take the risky path considering he was already exposed. See what this one was planning. He waved the sniper. Hopefully he had a semblance of a parley.

  • "Well, I'd say that's another job well done... Wait, what's that?" Korvic put the scope of his rifle up to his helmet, noting the figure moving up to the body of the dreg. The figure waved at him. "Well... Whoever they are, they seem to be friendly." "Master Korvic, I wouldn't advise rushing out in to the open to greet a stranger. Remember what happened last time?" "Hey, we both agreed that we would never speak of that again. Besides, if this guy wanted me dead, I would've seen it coming." He dropped down from the steel beam, landing on his feet, and made his way towards the stranger.

  • "Is this the wisest course of action? You have no idea who this guy is" "Odds are he's friendly. Otherwise he would have shot at me from there" "Still though. It's possible he didn't recognize you through the scope" "Even he means ill intent, have I lost a fight in the last... 30 years?" "Isn't one of your sayings "there's always someone better"?" "Yeah, but I've yet to meet someone who truly outclassed me" "I give up. Don't blame me for not warning you" By the time John and his Ghost were done bickering, the Hunter was close enough to see most of what he needed. "Afternoon! That was a fine shot earlier. Worthy of a Hunter. May I ask why you decided this Dreg deserved such a fate?" He probably already knew the answer but you could tell a lot about someone from how they talked. It would give John a general idea of what type of man he is. Or woman.

  • Korvic grinned behind his helmet as he rested his foot against the crashed pike. "Well, if I'm being honest, I wasn't too keen on shooting up the poor guy. Kinda feel sorry for 'em, almost. He was just doing his job, and I was doing mine."

  • "Heh. You sure did" A female titan was patrolling the area for available guardians on her sparrow, and she had noticed Korvic hanging by his foot. Approaching his position, she braked and hopped off the sparrow as it glinted into nothing behind here.

  • Korvic noticed the Titan below him as he stowed his rifle away. He let his foot slip off of the steel beam and positioned himself mid-air so he would land on his feet. He got up and dusted himself off, then walked over to the Titan. "Hey there. What brings you out here on this fine afternoon?"

  • "Oh boy. Where to begin..." She calmly walked over to a moss-covered boulder and sat down on it, resting both her arms on her legs. "I'm recruiting for something. Something big. And bad. And you certainly caught my attention with shots like that one you just did"

  • "Yeah? Well, I've been spending a lot of time out in the wilds as of late, so forgive me if I'm not quite up to speed on current events. What exactly are you recruiting for?"

  • "I'll get to that bit soon. Let's start with introductions shall we? I believe that's what people still do these days upon meeting, do they not?" She took of her helmet to reveal an awoken face, with pink skin that subtly rippled like ether, and dark purple hair fashioned into a Mohawk. Here irises blazed with white light. "I'm Zaaria. Pleased to meet you, Mr...?"

  • The hunter pulled down his hood and removed his own helmet. An Awoken himself, he had a light blue, almost grey-ish skin tone, a smooth face, and silver hair swept off to one side. His eyes were a fiery blue color, and grey markings covered his face around his eyes, nose, and chin. "Korvic Lanister. Hunter, Nightstalker and Bladedancer, Coyote, knife collector, knife juggler, hand cannon appraiser, sharp shooter, and stand up comedian." He chuckled and held out his hand.

  • "That's a lot of titles. I think I'll just stick with Korvic, if that's fine with you" Zaaria leaned forward and shook his hand.

  • "Yeah, well that's just a formal introduction. Heheh. Nice to meet you." He returned the handshake.

  • "Now, onto business. I said that I was recruiting for something big and bad, and that hasn't changed one bit. Something's coming for all of us Korvic, and it doesn't discriminate..." She paused in though for a moment, looking down to the ground and gazing upon a lone dragonfly perched on some blades of grass. "...when was the last time you were back at the last city?"

  • Korvic put his hand up to his chin, thinking back to when he last remembered being inside the walls. "Hmm..... About a month or so, I'd say."

  • "Ah..." Zaaria's expression began to sink, becoming more sympathetic and sorry than before. "... So you haven't heard the news then?"

"Well, I guess there's no easy way of saying this, but..." She paused and took a deep breath, before looking straight into Korvic's eyes. "The city was attacked just a couple of days ago. A quarter to a half of all the city's landmarks have been badly damaged in some way, shape or form, and the civilian death toll is in the thousands. And rising... Guardian casualties are also high"
