Levelling Up

I have been stuck at Lvl 25 for like 2 weeks now. I have done multiple bounties and strikes yet I cannot level up. I can't access the weekly nightfall strikes and the only other 2 people i know that play aren't always on when I am to play. I try playing in the crucible but i seemingly die after being shot once every time and find it HAF to kill anybody. Ive had 5 legendary drops on patrols the last week. 2 of which were not for a titan, 2 were weapons and 1 was 2 ascendant shards. I could really use some help with strikes and raids in order to procure some gear... What is the best way to go about levelling up?
