When you enter, look straight ahead. You see that u shaped wall directly opposite you in front of all the vex? That wall is your friend. First kill the adds. Then you get some dialogue before the statues come to life. During this dialogue run to the wall. There is a space behind the wall, approximately 1 guardian wide. Good news. You can run around the back of the wall and the adds can't/don't come back there. So, you are now at ground level, in front of the statues that come to life, behind a u shaped wall. Now peek out on the same side as the statue that comes to life with a sniper rifle and aim at where the statue will step down. Middle of the statue is it's crit spot. Snipe it. When you start getting shot, run back around the wall. Enemies will still shoot at you from the left and right. Do not tolerate this behaviour. Shoot them back. This gives you some breathing room. You can still die here, but it's much easier. Repeat sniping, running back, killing some adds on the side. One statue down. When a statue dies, kill adds, and collect ammo. Make sure you are back behind the wall by the time the next statue comes to life. Repeat x2. Success! Now do a happy dance. Hope this helped. If this is still unmanageable, there are additional safe zones, but they are a bit harder to explain as they are below floor level.
