The Vex and Time.

As we have learned in a previous report. The Vex are able to manipulate time, by using time vortexes to pull other Vex through time, or by using gates that can permit an indefinite amount of Vex through it. The gates are controlled by Gate Lords, and the time vortexes are powered by confluxes. We have learned that Atheon himself plays a dual role as a Gate Lord, and a living conflux all at the same time. He also can open up his own time vortexes at will, if that's not enough, he is able to literally send guardians through time vortexes! Here we are trying to decipher the real mystery behind the Vex, and their unusual fascination in time, and who is trying to destroy time, who is unintentionally doing it, and who, at the same time, is trying to save it all... Lets quickly take a look at the Black Garden, home to the Black Heart, the ultimate mind of, mostly, all Vex. It is also home to the Sol Progeny, and the residence of the elusive Sol Divisive. It is also one of two places where time branches out to the past and the future. The Black Garden has no actual archived "present" in terms of Grimoire, possibly meaning that someone is either in the past or future when in the Black Garden. Although, when one is in the Garden, they could be living in the present-day past, or present-day future. That sounds strange, but it actually is a reasonable proposal. Now while some proposals are focused on there only being past and future in the actual Garden, present-day would imply that the "present" in the Black Garden is in fact, the past or future! Now lets dive into the Vault of Glass. Here, time itself is "torn asunder" as the Precursor Vex Grimoire states. Now just because time is torn asunder, doesn't immediately mean that Atheon is trying to destroy time. But we can infer that because of Atheon's dual role of living conflux, and Gate Lord, is what makes time so unstable in the actual Vault, since we are very close to him, where we otherwise wouldn't be, time is probably different in the Vault, opposed to outside of it. But when we are in the Vault, we must fight Atheon, and his Precursor, and Descendant army. In the Vault, like the Black Garden, the player is able to access the past and future, except in the Vault, you are ultimately in the present, until Atheon throws you into the past or future. Or if you walk through one of the time gates. Now lets analyze what we have just learned. In the Black Garden, you can only be in the past or future, which act like the present in the Garden. But in the Vault of Glass, you can be in the present, past, or future. You can get to the past or future from the present by the will of Atheon, or by your own accord. The Black Garden is home to the Sol Divisive, and some Precursor Vex. The Vault of Glass is home to Descendant Vex, and Precursor Vex. Now, with that in mind, we can finally decipher which side is really fighting the good fight, and which one is trying to completely manipulate time... We can find the simple answer to be the Black Garden as the ones who try to destroy time, in fact they also want, and even try to manipulate time too! The evidence is obvious. The Black Garden has no present, which means that there can never be natural time in the Garden, also the garden itself is on no map of known space and time, this is the Black Garden Vex trying to actually wipe the garden off time which is manipulation of time! Atheon however is not fighting against time, but for time! He is trying to recreate the past and future in the Vault of glass on a smaller scale to keep time in balance. On top of that, Atheon is the leader of a large army of Descendant Vex which have managed to survive past the extinction of humanity, and other Vex, but if these Descendant Vex had such great survivability, they also have much more advanced technology. And if Atheon wanted to destroy time, he would have done it already! With such a powerful army he can destroy time, but he chooses to keep it in balance. But why hasn't Atheon already destroyed the Black Garden? Well, the better question is why hasn't the Black Garden destroyed the Vault of Glass? The answer is simply power. Both places are home to immense power. And the Black Heart itself could, in theory, destroy a good portion of Atheon's army, but Atheon can do the very same. It would always be a tie, and a waste of troops. That is not to say that Atheon and the Garden are at peace. There is no direct evidence of that. But they are more likely in a cold war. Not fighting, but rivaling each other. So who is the real threat? Us Guardians! We try to kill Atheon, who is trying to keep time in balance, and the Guardians are unknowingly trying to throw it off balance by killing Atheon. But overall, Guardian involvement aside, we can safely say that time is safe, not because of Guardians, because of a cold war between the Black Garden, and the Vault of Glass. It is there on which I conclude my report. I hope this sheds some light on this situation, but while we may never really know the true reason behind all of this chaos, this report, is the closest we may ever get to understanding it.
