Reforging Guide

I've been doing some research on the weapons of destiny lately and my findings inspired me to create a short guide for reforging. After all those motes are precious, don't want to go wasting them. So let's get started! 1. Weapon Stats Weapons have primary stats (visible) and secondary stats (hidden). An example of a hidden stat is equip speed. Knowing stats is your first step towards planning for the perfect build. Stats will inform you of strengths and weaknesses. Does your Shotgun have extremely high impact but low range? You'll probably want hammer forged as one of your perks so you can shatter enemies from a longer range. 2. Variety or Specifics Do you want to use your weapon for PVE & PVP or just PVE? • Variety A shotgun with high impact and full auto coupled with field scout for maximum ammo is perfect for PVE, but for PVP you'll benefit more from hammer forged which gives you extended range for getting those 1 shot kills. Having options is key in a Variety build. • Specifics I find that in PVE, high caliber rounds on a high impact fusion rifle is perfect for destroying elite enemies due to its ability to stagger foes, however HCR on a fusion rifle is useless in PVP. So if you decide to build a fusion rifle just for PVE and you don't mind trading accelerated coils for the ability to stagger the minions of the darkness, than look for high caliber rounds. In a specific build you don't need to waste motes trying to gain 2 different perks in the same column! If your not going to use hammer forged for your fusion, be content once you find the exact perk your looking for in that perk column. 3. Synergy It's all about synergy. Does your fusion have the highest charge rate in its class along with nice aim assist? How about accelerated coils to make it unreal! Couple that with SureShot IS and hidden hand for better target acquisition and rangefinder for more accuracy and you'll be more likely to land those shots. No tea bagging! That's all I got for now.
