Lvl 26 Titan Gear up for VoG

Hello, so I'm a lvl 26 Titan trying to get ready for first VoG run. I am still trying for legendary weapons and a legendary chest. I wanted to know if anyone had any tips for how to get gear up and what not. I'm gaining Dead Orbit rep already. Also if anyone wants to add me for a fireteam to run whatever with I'm good to go. Thanks.
