In UK a decision was mad to not charge two doctors for claims that they accepted offers to go through with gender based abortion. Although the prosecution had enough evidence to charge them, due to public interest it was dropped.
This led to a decision by 50 politicians who signed a petition that not enough was being done to combat action that go against the Abortion Act.
This has opened up the debate again for the abortion argument, where there has been a rising number of gender based abortion, most notably from Asian families. Most notably the South Asian communities where the tradition of a son being born is more preferred over a daughter.
Such cases has caused complaints from many western countries, example being Canada, where women would come from India to have an abortion on the baby if they found out it was a girl. This has led to outcry and demands for trials for those who support these abortion for gender based. And has led to an anger and push for more prosecution.
So Flood what is your view on these abortion cases.

It's chauvinistic and it shows how women are being degraded beyond belief. This world makes me sick with its ignorance and futility. They think a man will carry on their family's name, but don't they realize that women are the ones who bear life? What happens when the men outnumber the women 10:1? That's a lot of single guys.

I'm not sure what the UK laws on abortion are, and I detest every type of abortion, but the idea of getting an abortion because of the child's gender is particularly disturbing.
