How should we support ourselves?

Starting with [b]mods:[/b] Ever been so close to something that it was within reaching distance, but you couldn't ever get it? Imagine being a part of a navy, stuck in a submarine for two years, with no possible chance of being able to make sweet love to your SO. That's the situation with the ninjas right now. You've got a group of people capable of great things, but they are COMPLETELY weighed down by factors outside their control. Time to let them off the chain. Those shiny hammers have been nothing but neglected in recent years. Now I'm adamant that we don't need the same rule structure as B-old. We do however, need to tighten the chain on things like spam, harassment, and the like. A good solution to this, I think, would be for certain forums to endure more moderation rules than others. Offtopic can be kept exactly how it is. Let be as close to the wild west as it can. But the community forum on the other hand, needs to be kept clean to the extent that people come to understand what it's going to be like. That would do a decent job to push each forum into having it's own individual "feeling." I also understand that it's a lot easier to make the moderation rules the same across the board, but keep in mind that this is just an idea, nothing more. [b]Titles[/b] I'm upset, you're upset, we're all upset. They should have been back a looooooooong time ago. Why haven't they been brought back? My guess is someone said "I have a better way." Turns out that better way didn't work, but someone can't swallow their pride and here we are, title-less. That's a joke, and a bad one at that. I'll cut to the chase and explain why bringing back titles is possibly the single most beneficial thing that could be done on these forums. It, by itself, could possibly clean up the entire act of everyone on this forum. How? It's gives people a reason to play nice, and it's as simple as that. Act out of line and WHACK, back to square one. Don't get me wrong, it's a stretch saying that it alone could be the cleansing act these forums so badly need, but if you can't see that potential, I don't know how else to put it. It would absolutely be something that would take a longer time frame to play out, as everything naturally sorts itself out. Members begin to ascend up the title ranks, and others take notice. Of course you'll always have those who don't care about obtaining a title at all, and live to upset, but that's how it will always be. With both titles and slightly stricter moderation, I find it hard to see that this place wouldn't right itself out in some noticeable fashion. [b]Mentors[/b] I'm actually not going to touch base on this at all. I feel like my opinion on mentors is ignorant and insensitive, and I don't want to come away offending anyone here. That's totally opposite of what I'm trying to do here. If you really want to know, shoot me a PM and we can talk about it. That way I know whoever is asking won't be offended. Anyway, that's what I've got for now.
