I have to disagree with #2. Granted, I understand where it's coming from, but everyone who says this is taking shit way too seriously. You do not need 6 Microphones, and not having a mic does not make strategizing in orbit impossible. All that is needed, in general, are at least 2 people with Mics, and a group of listeners. That's stretching it, but it can be done. I completed my recent Raid run with half a team of no mics, and one person with a mic who barely used it. It took us a bit to find the flow, but we did it. I'm not saying we took 8 hours to complete, but it certainly wasn't a quick run. There were hiccups, there always are, but we did it. If a group with half its members being mic-less can do it, it's not that bloody crucial. Just my two cents, let the flames begin.

As long as the people are willing to listen and/or they've completed the raid before, then I personally have no problem with someone not having a mic. I think OP is referring to anyone not listed in these two categories. Also it can take longer sometimes, but besides that, it's not a big deal. Hell, even when I played DayZ SA we had a guy with no mic running around with us. Was a bit of a risk, but he listened when someone gave him orders, so it was no problem.

  • Indeed, as long as you have people 'willing' to listen. I think that's the biggest part. If you don't have a Mic, and are fully willing to listen and put in the orders, I think you're good. It's everyone else that isn't willing to listen or thinks they 'got this' that need a kick in the ass. While I will admit I've never been into a 'party chat' before, the fault is less mine and more the others in the fireteam that either don't know they can do that, or neglect to invite people into it. I've never once gotten an invite, or even a request, to join any sort of party chat. I'll definitely look into it though as normally I can't hear a damned thing during a good battle (mostly Bungies fault for not adding volume controls).

  • I would say you would need a mic to call out enemies and where you are when you get ported. Other than that you are good for the whole raid.

  • Fair enough but any players in my fireteam with no mic soon feel the swift sole of my boot. It is vital.

  • In that case I'm glad I won't likely ever be on your fireteam. Lighten up man, it's only 'vital' to YOU.

  • It's just always the guy with no mic that does exactly what he was told not too. In my experience. Just plug it in, say hi and mute, I'm happy aslong as I know your there and listening. ;)

Well, lucky for you, I'm always the guy without a Mic that does exactly what you say TO do, if I can hear you of course. Like I said, I'm a great listener, if I can hear you over everything else, which is difficult without any sort of volume control. Whoevers' idea it was to add voice chat, but made everything else louder than the actual voices, needs to be shot. I'm dearly hoping Bungie is able to fix that at some point by at least adding some form of robust volume control so that we can turn all the roars, gunshots, explosions, ships coming in, shit beeping at us, Atheon making his weird ass noises, etc. down to a level that isn't overbearing for anyone trying to hear a decent strategy on how to not get owned in some damn place by some damn thing that simply wants us dead.

  • On hard absolutely yes with mic, but on normal... meh... With the random porting tho it will be quite harder. Its hard for me to use the playstation voice com bcoz Iam used for many years using push to talk from Teamspeak due to my kids running all the time around me yelling and I dont want to annoy ppl with it coz with voice activation it always goes trough the mic.
