I also should mention that you could work on specific faction reputation. If you wear a specific faction's mark (purchasable at level 20 at each faction vendor with no other requirements) then ALL rep gains (Vanguard & Crucible) go towards faction rep. Check all vendors your preferred weapons and gear BEFORE trying to earn rep.

I went the route of levelling up my crucible level to be able to unlock legendary armour. You can also level up your vanguard rank if the crucible isn't your forte. Once you reach level 2 in either you can use your crucible/vanguard marks to purchase your legendary armour. If you're not up for this method, furbur's method is your best bet. Good luck!

Just constantly run strikes, pvp, gain rep loot all drops and decode those engrams
