Lurulu? It is a special word, from the language of myths and legends, and is as much of a mystery now as when I first yearned for something lost and unknown. But one day I shall glance over my shoulder and there it will be, wondering why I had not come sooner.

A Lurulurian Christmas Carol

Elegiac, King on the White Gold throne ruled with a fair, but stern hand. All was fair in Lurulu, and all remained well. The spam did not overflow into the streets, and the peasants quite nicely flourished. Many crops were sold by the winter, and none could deter the success of the land, and it's King. Arcane and mystic, claiming to be older than the Overlord himself, Zizou, Archmage of the King and a thousand before him, climbed the spiraling steps of the Surantiath, a tower directly centre the College of Lurulu. There was much learning at this place. Breakthroughs in medicine, contraptions of all shapes and sizes, even flying machines were achieved within these walls, but not all learning is for the good of the people. Zizou brewed a powerful spell in his crystal cauldron atop the Surantiath. The grey spire was erected to reach the heart of magical power: the sky. And it is here, in the confines of this spire, that Zizou the Grand should learn that not all which can be learned should. Elegiac played with his treasured Malachite goblet, knowing that Zygomaticus would be laughed off by the Overlord, and his servant. Even his servant's servants would not give him their blessings. Cool air flooded the great hall with a sweep. The furnaces went cold, the fires became banked, and the candles died away. Elegiac spoke first. "Why have you come to stand amongst the nobility, peasant?" "I come here by the highest authority." A shadowed figure, previously invisible to people of less keen sight then His Majesty, emerged from the darkness. His body was that of fear, and his blood was that of snakes. "Whose authority is higher than mine? Do you mean to say the Overlord himself sent you to this place?" "Mortal men should believe that their Precious overlord reigns above all else, but there is one who may even claim Him to be his servant." Elegiac was appalled by the blasphemy. The nobility was struck silent, and not in the least by the parlour tricks of Archmage Zizou, for he was locked in his Surantiath, safe and away from the chambers of Elegiac's castle on the Black Hill. "There can be no power higher then my own, unless it is derived of the Overlord. What could be greater then he?" The Shadowed man took another step forward, and was met by the spear of a guard. The guard who held the spear fell dead on the scene. The mysterious figure removed his hood. "My master is death, and he has an ultimatum for the King of this land." Lady Otthild was taken by such surprise, that in this moment, she fell to be unconscious. "Ah. I see. It is you." Elegiac was troubled by this revelation, should his wizard be at his side he might be able to force the beast back from whence it came. "I will return for you in the lonely hours of the night. Though the Overlord hath struck me down you shall not go unreprimanded for your actions this day. If only your Archmage were less clumsy. When I return, you will be met by three spirits, who shall accompany myself. The first being Karl, seeker of Felicia. The people you have gathered here today shall have no recollection of the events which have transpired since I entered the room. So long, old friend." He left the room the same as he entered, a rush of wind, a loss of light, and the doors were closed and fires lit. Lady Otthild regained consciousness. She saw somewhat around the barrier of perception cast on the chamber, and whispered to the King, "What has just happened?" Elegiac, appearing grave and pale, replied to her, "The Solonoid lives."
