It was in Halo, and it was fun, so, why not?
P.S. Halo 3 style active camo...
-
Yes as long as... firing deactivates the cloak movement speed directly impacts the visibility of the silhouette
-
Would be OP if only one class was to get it. but if they were a way to balance it would to not let any action be performed while stealthed, maybe except for a crawling animation. This would make sure that they can't snipe you while you never see it coming and you at least stand a chance.
-
Closing time (exotic sniper) makes you camouflaged while aiming down sights. I like the idea to add it as a gun ability rather than a class one because everyone can use the sniper, while only one of the classes would be able to take advantage of the ability
-
I can see this as a skill within one of the focuses
-
NO, only on Closing Time (the gun) but i would like to see suppressors that actually have an affect on the enemies.
-
Invisibility would be awesome, as long as its not OP, maybe full invisibility for a short period of time or halo reach/4 active camo where it isn't very powerful but lasts for a while
-
Yeh Halo 4 camo but maek it so thar no blue dot on mep
-
What about a Team Fortress 2 style, cloak, where it allows your character to move undetected for short durations, but they can't do anything but move. And there would be a cloak/decloak animation to prevent super fast surprise attacks. Just an idea, as TF2 balanced cloaking quite well, and it has an incredibly high skill ceiling to use to maximum efficiency.

No. And the worst and most noobs camos are in Reach and Halo 4. I miss H3's camo.
-
I could honestly see something like this, but wouldn't know how balanced it would be. It just seems like it'd be used to camp and snipe.
-
i would actually like if the invisibility was legit
-
Invisibility was better in three than in reach or four. In three you didn't have to crouch or stop moving to stay cloaked.
-
I'm thinking make it like the nightingale ablity in skyrim, where it only works if nobody sees you become invisible and you must stay crouched in order for it to work.
-
No. Why? Because this isn't Halo
-
Just a thought that came to me: Maybe the route to go instead of camo is radar jamming. You temporally disappear off radar. That way opponents can still see/hear you if they are paying attention. If you're standing in a room and they look right past you, it's their own damn fault.
-
Only makes sense, especially that far in the future, and not to mention Space Magic.
-
Maybe a camp ability for hunters, but that'd be hard to balance.
-
Good god please no. Talk about yanking all the skill from a game. More and more games nowadays are implementing invisibility (killzone crysis, ghost recon, halo ect) and in every one of those games it's gimmicky and cheesy. The only time you will see anyone use it is when they're looking to snag a free kill by camping in some dark corner. It's a horrible concept that does nothing but promote camping - a large step backwards for any developer.

It's important to note that Active Camo in Halo 4 (343i) broke multiplayer before the title update and even to some extent after the update. It's the easiest/cheapest way to win a 1v1 battle so EVERYONE used it. The game turned into hide-n-go-seek and hide-n-go-snipe. With very little going on in between. I'm not saying Active Camo was the singular issue in H4, but I still have a bad taste in my mouth. I'd personally prefer never to see Camo, Jetpacks or a Boltshot again in a PvP context.
-
They should have a Mgs type of camo in which you find. Mgs camo acts likes a octopus or chameleon for people who don't know. Or have rare Chinese stealth armor like in Fallout :D
-
Only for Hunters.
-
those fallens won't know what hit them!!
-
so long as those who want a straight up arena game with stock movement can get one without being sniped by some cloaked camper.
-
No, that wouldn't really fit. Unless it's part of the Traveler's space magic of course
-
Maybe a am ability for the hunters, since they seem to be more stealth oriented.
-
Seems pointless in the fact that your gonna be playing against enemy AI most of the time...
