The Rifles of Destiny (That we know of)

Okay, so we know there are 4 types of Rifles in Destiny. These Rifles are considered to be your Primary weapon in your 3 Tier weapon system in Destiny. Just thought I'd break down some information on each gathered from around the web. Please correct me if anything is wrong. Fusion Rifles - Usually burst fire weapons with different configurations (Similar to a BR I'd imagine). - Reverse engineered by humans from "Alien Tech" with advanced energy disbursement technology. - Assault style sights. - Examples would be: Conduit F3. Auto Rifles - Fully Automatic weapon with ammunition in cartridge form. - Highly customizable and upgradeable. - Examples would be: Arcus Regime and Sanctuary No.2. Pulse Rifles - Burst fire weapons with particle or laser type ammunition. - Can be Bullpup in configuration. - The Viper P3 Superior Pulse Rifle holds 33 rounds with 11 burst per magazine. - Bungie considered other names for Pulse Rifles such as "Particle Cannon" and "Laser Monster". Lolsies. -Examples would be: Red Death (Has a Regen ability), PSI Umbra II and Viper P3. Scout Rifles - Semi-Automatic marksman rifles. - Not much else is know but I think this type of rifle will be similar to the DMR. - Example would be: Monitor S11 So there's some information, which Primary weapon will you be rolling with, and why? Some guns have also been thought to be faction specific, but I'm sure Bungie said anyone can use any weapon in Destiny. Which makes me believe that faction logos on weapons are a customization option. What do you think?

I want to know more about modular weapon component variety. Specifically, the fusion rifle category. To me, the term "fusion rifle" is as non-descript as "bullet gun". Of course, the vagueness of the term chosen may be intended. Conduit F3, to me, looks like it fills the combat role of a SMG. The description of its over penetrating burst fire being good for multiple targets makes me think that the burst fire may be more of a shotgun like "burst" of energy perhaps administered with a secondary fire mode like Halos plasma pistol/bolt shot or maybe a button on the d-pad like how some other fps games switch between selective fire modes. Will all fusion rifles be CQB pieces with a variety of sights and skins? or will we be able to slap a long sleek snipers/designated marksmans upper receiver onto one of those things, or a heavy upper for mid-range suppression fire? Truly, we have much to learn.

  • I'm leaning towards a scout or pulse rifle for long range engagements.

    • ^^I've put together a mass of destiny info in this link.^^ There are also "Scout Rifles" there has only been one picture released (the Monitor S11) about them but it's pretty safe to say they are a single shot variant of the Pulse Rifles (also my favorite kind of rifle to use in games).
