A Father's Ode to his Child

They say you can stand on top of the highest tower, and look out to the horizon, and all you will see is the City. The Wall that protects us is far away, built large enough to encircle all the humans left on Earth. One day, my child, I will take you to the top of the tower, and you will see for yourself the wonders of this City. You will touch the Traveler, absorb its power, no its gift to you. And with that gift, you will drive off the savage hordes that have harried and beaten us for years. But first, you must grow up. You must buy fruit and meat from the vendors in the bustling Plaza. You must help the sick in Olympus Hospital, with its white rooms and wise doctors. You must learn of, and harness your strengths in Wolfram School. Only when you come of age, with your body, mind, and spirit working in perfect tandem, then you will be ready to face our foes and become legend.
