That is a very thorough guide. I have been wanting to make a post for crucible tips for awhile, so maybe I will do that now. Full disclosure I am by no means an expert crucible player but I feel I have improved a lot over the last few months. When I decided to devote more time to crucible my over all KD was .73, now I am sitting at a .91. Getting better takes patience and time (never gets old). 1. DONT DIE This seems like a really stupid tip but honestly learning how to not die is huge. The thorn bounty helped me with this a ton. I would personally rather sport a positive KD and have a small kill count than play too aggressive and give the other team more points. That is what this tip comes down to ultimately. Denying the opponent points is just as good as racking up tons of kills IMHO. 2. RUN AWAY! This probably could have been included in "don't die" but it is a little different. Mainly learn when to engage. If you are out gunned or they get the drop on you get to cover and have an escape plan. A good player that gets a drop on you and you do get into cover will have a grenade with seeking coming right behind his last shot to finish you off. So get the f out of dodge. Don't be proud denying the kill is often helpful and frustrates your opponent. If he chases you, you have a great chance of brining them out of position and possibly grabbing an ambush kill. 3. PLAY YOUR GAME (but stay in the metta) What are you good with? Are you a wiz bang with a sniper? Like close range? Start with a weapon you like and play to its strengths. For instance don't bring a scout rifle to camp a corner. Seems simple right? If you like the closer engagements try a shotty last word combo. Mid range look for a pulse rifle or hand cannon and maybe a fusion rifle. Pay attention to what is killing you also, your gonna die you might as well learn something from it. It seams like the good primaries right now are Red death, last word, hawk moon, thorn, but you can hold your own with others if you want to keep you an exotic for a secondary or heavy slot but I don't feel it is necessary. Shotguns are king right now and I think an exotic here is really wasted. Felwinters sniper I mean shotgun will be your worst enemy. There is something to be said for invective for ammo regen as well as ice breaker. But I think the faster ROF snipers are better. Heavy, well take you pick really. Hunger of Crota or truth would be great. I prefer heavy MG but I like the higher impact with smaller reserves. Your TTK is a lot better with those. 4. WATCH AND LEARN THEN PRACTICE I spend a good amount of lunch breaks and toilet time watching twitch. TMI. but seriously watch some one good play. Watch how they move and where they go on the map. You can learn so much just watching some one play and what spots they go to and when they engage or run and what there load out is. Then practice, practice, practice. Really just keep trying but take it slow you don't need to be the hero, stay alive get your KD up and eventually you can be the best around. This is just my two cents I am sure others could help more than me but these are things that have helped me. I am more than willing to be proven wrong and I am still learning as well. Happy hunting.
