Alright, Time to get this show on the road.

Chorizzzzzzo pointed out to me that Tickets should be going on sale THIS MONTH. The time for coordination is now. Who's going? Who would like to meet up? Who doesn't know where to stay? What is there to do around Seattle? PAX is coming.

  • I'm going! I'm working as an enforcer from 7am to 1pm each day for PAX. I'll be staying with my family in downtown Seattle. I don't know if we already have roommates in mind, so I won't open up our hotel room quite yet for more people.

      • Guh, I've always wanted to go to PAX but being a poor Canadian is hard.

      • Unfortunately I cannot make it this year ;_; I know I'm gonna miss out on a lot. But...I got no monies. I can only afford one of those kinds of trips a year! Maybe if something special pulls through...maybe...

      • This'll be my first year going. I haven't really made connections in the b.net community since 2006/7, but I'll be looking forward to seeing some old friends. Just hope I don't miss the infamously small window to buy a three-day.

Hopefully I'll make it this year, it's just a matter of getting tickets in time. I missed the very small window last year and hated myself for it. If I do manage to get some badges for myself and my girlfriend it would be cool to meet up with some fellow Bnet users. I might offer transportation to those who make it up here without a vehicle, but we'll cross that bridge if/when we get to it. Especially since my car is uncomfortably small for those who aren't in the front. That, and I'm not sure how parking works for this event, so it might end up being a moot point if you're staying in Seattle.
What is there to do around Seattle?
There's a lot of tourist traps like Pikes Market and the Space Needle, places I usually stay away from due to the huge crowds that go there to realize there's really not much to see. But if it's something that interests you, you'll probably enjoy it regardless. Either location is fun to check out at least once. But, my favorite way to take in Seattle is to park somewhere and just walk around. Otherwise, if the EMP has something cool going on it's worth checking out, otherwise their music exhibits fail to capture me. It's not that great unless there's something specific going on, like the Icons of Sci-Fi they had going on a while back. I rarely plan things out when I go there, I just find myself at different locations. One of the cooler areas to check out is the waterfront area below Pikes. That's about as specific as I can get, I'm still adjusting to living in a metro area so I tend to stick around the calmer Bellevue area where I live.
Who doesn't know where to stay?
If you're flying to Washington, there's a lot of hotels around the SeaTac airport. From there, there's a train station not too far away from those. The train station essentially takes you straight through Seattle, it ends somewhere in the middle by the city center's mall. So if you notice booking a room in central Seattle is a bit tight, that's always an option for you. This area is very welcome to public transportation, so don't be afraid to use it if you need to. The only downfall to that is SeaTac can seem somewhat uninviting (though the stretch from the train station to the hotels isn't bad at all), I used to work graveyards at the airport and it has a bit of an intense atmosphere during the night, it's not really cause for concern, but if you feel like you want to stay in a nicer area, definitely go for a room in Seattle.

            • I couldn't attend last year, but more than likely I'll be showing up this year. Ticket season is right around the corner, expecting twitter to explode soon.

            • I will be there. I hope to get a full weekend pass (is it 4 days this time?), not individual day passes.

            • I would like to come, and I would like a billion people to message me as soon as the 3 day passes go on sale. I've been checking every day myself (It will be this page right?), but I don't want to miss out as I shouldn't have any excuses this year.

              • 90% sure I'll be going. Parents are planning a vacation that might overlap, but I don't think it will. If anyone needs direction or general information about Seattle, let me know, I'm from the area. I am however looking to find a hotel room to bunk in since I want to go to the midnight concerts. I'll chip in, of course, and I'll take a floor if I must. As for what to do around Seattle, there's plenty. Let me know what you're interested in doing and I can provide information. I'll also be trying to set up some get togethers and swag set up like last year. Maybe a LAN. We'll see. More details to come.
