What If... Halo 2 Anniversary Came Out For 720?
The thought just came up to my head.
I mean, it's perfectly logical. We have next to no information about the game other than that it's in development. It could be perfectly made to come out as a release title for 720, giving people a reason to get the console as soon as it comes out. And if it had it's own Halo 2 MP with most of the maps, it would sell like crazy. Also if it were to come out on 720, I highly doubt it would be like Halo 4's MP, being a simple port. And if you thought Halo CE was gorgeous in HD, imagine Halo 2 (delta halo, high charity, earth) in next gen graphics.
Interesting idea, indeed. Maybe this is one of the aces Microsoft has been holding back?

1 ReplyIf it's a campaign reskin, I wouldn't buy it. Co-op was so terrible on there it was nearly unplayable. If it is the campaign remade specifically under a new engine, I wouldn't buy it. Nostalgia =/= new game If it has the old multiplayer reskinned, I wouldn't buy it. All the glitches I have heard of would make me never play it. If it is a remade multiplayer under a new engine, I wouldn't buy it. Again - Nostalgia =/= new game So, I wouldn't buy it. There have been too many over glorified memories of what once was, because it was THE thing back in the day. Under all new graphics and mechanics the old and new would likely not be compatible. What you loved about the old game is a memory of what it was like then. There have been too many advancements and better things in games that would make anything from an old game seem antiquated and dull by today's standards. There are far fewer people who played Halo 2 online than there are that play all manner of other games online today, so I would expect the population to only be the true diehards trying to relive the past, but you can't get those moments back. The events that lead to those things you romanticize were then. The people you played with then that attributed to the 'OMG' events may no longer be around either.

I don't know, Halo 2 Vista affords me more opportunities despite being buggy. H2 Anniversary [i]Campaign[/i] would have to have a major performance boost, the button combos intact (as in, pre-TU), more dedication put into updated Covies, weapons, and vehicles. If it's another CEA, it's just going to take up hard drive space. I bought CEA again to play it Co-op, but hardly anyone plays it. :/

If it had H2 MP then I'd definitely buy it. If it was just campaign, or if the MP was a bastardised version of H4, then I'd probably not bother.

NONONO! They should make Halo 2 (original or anniversary) for free as a default free game on 720...with free matchmaking to try it live gold out! INSTANT SUCCESS! M$! Oh and Hipi I would get it if it was like how you said. Needs to have original multiplayer with most the maps. I will buy a 720.

3 RepliesPlease don't give them any ideas. The only thing they would remake is the campaign, and the campaign was unfinished, buggy, and because of the deadline, had a different ending than intended. A remake would leave the plot intact and would only buff up the graphics. Multiplayer was the greatest quality to Halo 2, but we wouldn't see that in the remake nor would we want to. Halo 2 was good for its time, but that's not going to be true for its modern competitors.

I'd be really pissed if they did that. 343 is retarded and ruined Halo, so I probably won't buy the new xbox or Halo 5 and the whatever else they do. But I would buy Halo 2 Anniversary. Even if it's just the campaign like CEA. I won't get it if I have to buy a shitty next gen xbox, though.

However, if it was made only for the 720... teh puma doesn't know if he would get it. That's buying another console just to get 1 good game. Teh puma could just wait for someone else more excited for the 720 to buy both, and play it at their house. As awesome as Halo 2 is, it is still a game teh puma has played before, and one he could play perfectly fine right now.
