Is there any particular reason why the new UNSC logo appears around the Forward Unto Dawn in Halo 4? Canonically, the new logo was created in the post-war era, so it doesn't make sense for it to appear anywhere on the Forward Unto Dawn.

If you'll notice, in the intact version of the ship, the old logo is there. However, when we get to the crashsite on Requiem, we see the post-war logo. That is an oversight.

It is also clearly visible on the holographic interface Cortana brings up when she wakes up Chief, as well as appearing on nearly every other control panel or computer monitor in the level "Dawn."
-
Again, an oversight. Let's also not forget the Dawn is portrayed as a Strident, not a Charon.

Haha! I bet 343i's response to this would be something along the lines of "oops."

Most likely artistic license. Same reason why the FoD changes it's appearance between Halo 3 and 4.

While that excuse can be made for numerous things in Halo 4, it cannot be made for this. 343i gave a canon reason for the logo change. This, coupled with the fact that the old UNSC logo appears in both CEA and H2A, almost proves that this was just laziness on 343i's part.
