Currently, two player split screen is confirmed.
-
Really? Cool. Shame I'll be off at college when it finally comes out.
-
I wouldn't worry about that. I'm the only person on my entire floor who actively plays Halo. It really is a struggle to find other Halo players at college. Especially ones who don't mind 343i.
-
Understandable, but can you blame them? Halo 4 was less than stellar, and the MCC was just…you know. Right now, I have no plans to preorder Halo 5. Maybe if 343i does another beta closer to launch, they'll sway my standing.
-
Unknown, but it's possible. I wouldn't count on it, though, since split-screen is pretty much a dead practice.
-
It's something halo has always had tho...

True as that may be, Halo is evolving. The MCC was the first Halo game on a console to make use of dedicated servers. The problem that split-screen presents on a technological level is that it causes the game to render the same map twice, using up more processing power and causing framerate lag as well as lower quality models and a shorter render distance.
