How come the Ur-Didact has these "force" abilities? I'm replaying through Halo 4 now and I might stumble upon the answers in there, but just in case. Is this something specific to Warrior-Servants? Or his mutation?

  • I still don't understand how this is a mystery. Let me ask you this, does forerunner architecture/constructs/weapons, Covenant vehicles, and the Gravity Hammer operate via the "force"?

I think you might be misunderstanding the tone, I wasn't asking to provoke you or make fun of. Was genuinely curious as to how does he have these abilities. While Forerunner structures and such do deify gravity, I didn't think that Forerunners themselves would be able to. Kind of like saying, yeah we can build planes but we ourselves can't fly. Again, I'm not asking this to provoke you. Also, I just used the term "force" because I wasn't sure how to exactly describe it.

  •
Also, I just used the term "force" because I wasn't sure how to exactly describe it.
Constraint field would be the specific term. We've seen it numerous times in Halo, but on less of a personalised scale - for instance, when Anders is being held by Ripa in Halo Wars, and in Halo 2 when Guilty Spark is held captive by Truth and Mercy. The Halo 4: Scanned trailer also depicted a similar device. The smallest-scale use of constraint fields seen is in Contact Harvest where Truth is able to suspend a cup of tea in the air. If the Covenant have managed to make such extensive use of the technology, then it only makes sense that the Forerunners, as masters of gravity, would be able to do innumerable things with it.

  • My bad. I didn't mean to think you had provoked me. I'm merely annoyed that so many people don't get it. I'm more than happy to answer the question. You're correct, people can't fly on their own. But guess what, Iron Man had dedicated thrusters, Elites have dedicated thrusters or adhoc packs.

  • He's got an incredibly advanced armor system. Most likely there are gravity control devices built into it, activated by gestures or thought or something

  • Some believe that his sixth finger grants him this ability.
