So... Cave Farming? Opinions?
So... my question is, what are people's opinions on this?
Personally I don't see a problem with it, most likely it will get patched out. Make the use of it now while you can.
But curious what others think.

2 Repliesthere is a lot of hate going around for cave farming and I didn't try it until yesterday and you should NOT get rid of it It is the most social area in destiny I see 3 guys doing it so me and my fiend join in then more people join us and there is like 8 guys just hang out in the cave area we compare armor and weapons and have dance parties I meet more people in the cave farming area then I do in the tower, my friends list has doubled over the last 2 days of going to that area I met all kinds of people And the public events happen at the right times. We had like 2 public events ever hour it was insane we had 8 guys protecting this WARSAT thing and It would happen right next to the cave farming area. I can honestly say that this cave farming thing is the most fun I have had in destiny Please don't get rid of it.

Lazy. There is a planned progression to the game that most people missed that starts wive the accrual of marks and gets you to 29 at a nice easy, sustainable pace without all the bitching. Worked fine for me with a little help from the queen. Next week, a legendary handcannon guaranteed..

I'm all for it, I've been playing mmo's since vanilla wow and stuff like this is the done thing, which is why it baffles me when people shout and scream that it's an exploit and cheating when's it's not. IMO this line of discussion is getting bit toxic and whether they change it or not it's about time bungie stepped in with their opinion on the matter, so everyone from both sides of the argument are clear on what's what.

I never understood why certain people frown on farming/grinding for items, experience and/or currency in RPGs. It is almost as though those individuals are not very familiar with the role-playing genre.

Just did it like ten minutes ago for the first time and only for maybe that same amount of time. I think its cool and has some potential for some good gear. I got 4 rare engrams although nothing to improve my Light. Gonna try it again tomorrow. Aaannnd... I really don't think this can be considered an exploit. Its an MMO.

I say who cares really theres so many different ways to go about gearing up via strikes, pvp, chest farming, engram farming, doing bounties, its just how do u want to go about spending your time

Farming is a part of mmo/mmo-like games.its like complaining about there being guns in a shooter.

They don't patch it because it's the only good way to get glimmer sometimes, but they do increase the respawn timers on the chest in every area. If they patched it they'd have to come up with a better way for getting glimmer (sometimes resources) than chest, discarding, cryptarc (codex, banners, etc). There's just not enough glimmer to go around when everything costs so much lol.
