Are humans solitary creatures or dependent on each other?

Recently my friend and I got into a bit of an argument. She refuses to let me help her with something because she prefers being solo. Even though I am invading the privacy of her life, I feel as if because we are both human, I have the right to help her. Basically, I think that humans are dependent on each other while she seems to to think humans are capable of total independence.

  • I don't see how her not wanting to be helped at the time means she believes she's totally independent that being said I think it depends on mood and personality sometimes I feel like there's nothing better in the worldthan to escape to the woods and do some hunting other times I love playing games or biking with my friends and theres plenty of stories of people who live away from every one my unclesone of them. But there are others thatcan survive things like newyork because they like it there it all depends on personality and current mood

Humans are social creatures, and obviously that means they aren't solitary. That being said, you don't have the right to invade her privacy or life. If she doesn't want you involved then back the -blam!- off. Don't be a jackass.

  • I don't quite understand your logic. What, exactly, about the fact that humans generally benefit from societal interaction gives you the right to invade the privacy of others?

Humans are dependent on each other, but that doesn't mean you can or should be able to force yourself on others. She's not wholly 'independent', no matter what she says, but she still has all the right in the world to tell you to -blam!- off.

    • So just because you're of the same species that means you have the right to force yourself on others, huh?

    • You don't have the "right" to help someone against her will just because you're a member of the same species. Anyways, humans are a social species comprised of individuals, like every other species of mammal that form groups.
