”Running ashore, Captain.” “Can you stop saying that every single time we show up somewhere new? It got real old real fast.” ”Well then. Didn’t have to be so rude.” “I own you. I can be as rude as I please.” ”You don’t own me. You own me as much as you own the air inside your ship.” “Say that to the contract and the money jingling in someone else’s pocket, kelk.” ”I have a name.” “And I have an opinion, looks like we both have things the other doesn’t care about.” ”Whatever. We landed. Get out and stop making fun of me.” “Stop acting like a child and I will.” He would pop the hatch open, the sunlight hitting his hair and eyes like a flashbang at first. It’d been days since he’d seen sun, good thing he was taking supplements or the lack of vitamins from being out in the sun might’ve done him in. But he hoisted himself out of the ship, slamming the hatch down as he stood up onto the hood. The old rustbucket was still holding together, but not much else. It was a black ship, shaped like a cylinder. It looked like a bottle rocket, or a firework or such. It was a little rusty and broken down, but it worked... Mostly. It could get from point A to point B, and that’s all that matters. He took a sharp look downward, and jumped down. He saw who he was after. A tall man, one who was rather infamous in a few other planet’s databases. A hefty fine was placed on his head, one that he just had to claim. Money makes the world go round, and Theodynn Reikals would make it spin like a top if he had his way. He began walking with a crowd, he didn’t know where he was on the planet. He’d just have to guess and hope he was near a major settlement. It seemed he was, from the amount of shops and such that he had seen throughout the time he’d been there, which was all of about thirty seconds. He was waiting. Waiting for him to turn down a corner or something like that. Some place secluded, he didn’t want the local law finding him once he’d done his deed. The man he was after was dressed in a trench coat, one that could’ve held many surprises. Many would know him by his common name, but only a few new what he was really called. Charles LeCant. The Vampire Hunter. Eventually, Theodynn got his wish, the man turning down an alleyway. The Vampire Hunter wouldn’t be hunting that much longer, especially if he kept down this path. Theo would jog up to him, and tap on his back, and Charles would turn to face him. Vampire Hunter: “Yes? Who might you be, that you would tap on the shoulder of one so mighty?!” The Vampire Hunter would chuckle and claps his hands together, staring down at the much smaller man. His toothy, white smile was visible, as were his firey, blue eyes. “All jokes aside, what do you want? I’ve got a schedule to keep, and I can’t waste any time. By that I mean I have all the time I want and I have nothing going on.” Theodynn would put his hand at his side, down where a prism-like charm would hang. It was about the size of his fist, and he put his hand around it. He didn’t have much on to cover his face, just a rainbow-colored bandanna and a pair of shades. He looked up at Charles. Theodynn: “Yeah, just one question. How many people want you dead? Just go get a number, I’ve heard about your exploits.” The Vampire Hunter’s smile gets even larger as he unfolds his hands, looking at him like this was just a normal question. Vampire Hunter: “Sit down. We’ll be here for a while. Let’s start off with religious organizations! The Pope, Tom Cruise, whoever the hell leads the Mormons, probably Je-“ He was cut short by a thin line appearing across his neck, and Theodynn replacing the prism on his belt. Theodynn: “Don’t care. One of them hired me. Don’t even know who. But your corpse has a lot of money pinned on it, so...” He snaps, and blood erupts from Charles’s neck, him falling to the ground. Theodynn snaps a few pictures with his phone, and then begins to walk off, blood now all over he front of his rainbow-colored armor.
Open.
• A few moments went by before the man would notice his tail, a woman, with shorter, pixie cut ruffled hair and a flawless look about her skin. Albeit it was all betrayed by the metallic left arm that was in place of a real one. For the most part, she looked normal, dressed in a dull gray button down shirt, sleeves rolled up to mid upper arm. Her pants being a faded black denim color, matching colored boots on as well. The woman looked like the average citizen. But the arm, something about it was too natural, not enough artificial. Its movements and functioning was too natural to be a prosthetic.

 • Theo would suddenly stop, seeing if the woman would keep going or stop as well. He wasn’t dumb, he’d noticed her presence for a little bit, and would turn to face her eventually. He was caught a little off guard by the pristinity of her skin, but the arm didn’t seem to bother him at all. “Following a man with blood spattering the front of his armor and hiding his identity behind what’s almost a mask. I’d call you a fool, but by the way that arm looks you don’t look all that bright. Seems like you had a bit of a scuffle, or you left before it was done. Doesn’t have skin like the rest of you. Though, I have to admit. You’ve intrigued me. Why are you following me around? Just curious?” He crosses his arms halfway through his little speech, his eyes softening up. Perhaps the cold exterior was only when he was on the job.

 • The woman stopped abruptly, a bit of a surprised expression about her. She took a moment to reply, her voice shaking a bit. "I was... Not...." She let out a sigh then, her shoulders going slack as her head hung a bit. "Was following you because I saw you kill him, wanted to find out why."

 • “Easy. Bad people get lots of money put on them by good people. Good people get even more money put on them by bad people. He pissed off both good and bad people, so his corpse is worth about seventeen times it’s weight in gold. So I slit his throat, took some pictures, and sent them in. I’m being wired the cash as we speak.” He uncrosses his arms. Behind the bandanna he was smiling, proud of his work. He’d explained it so many times, it was a wonder he didn’t have an actual speech memorized. “Get That chin up. Curiosity is nothing to be ashamed of. Unless you’re too curious, that could definitely get you killed. Maybe by me, if you piss off the wrong people.”

 • She flinched then, taking that a bit harshly. "But I was told to be curious about everything, to learn? Is that not what I should do?"

 • “Just don’t go poking your head around places that people tell you to stay out of, alright? If somebody tells you not to do something, don’t do it unless you want to get hurt. I’m not trying to scare you, just giving you a bit of a warning.” He puts a hand out, presumably to shake. He even takes his glove off, revealing an extremely pale hand. “Theodynn Reikals. Mercenary extraordinaire. You would be?”

 • She went to put her hand out, but then hesitated, then put it flat against his. Clearly she had never given a hand shake before. "Penny!" Now she was a bit more optimistic, a bit of a grin on her face.

 • He chuckles, and shakes her hand, even if she didn’t know what he was doing. He looks at her for a second, deciding carefully what words he would say. She didn’t know what a handshake was, so she was one of three things. A: Mentally disabled. B: Raised very poorly. Or C: She was recently put into existence. He bet it was the last one, would explain the unfinished arm. “See what I’m doing there? That’s called a handshake. It’s polite to do when somebody puts their hand out like that. It’s a greeting. But it’s nice to meet you, Penny. Got a last name, or just the first?”

 • She looked a bit quizzical, but absorbed the information nonetheless. "Nope, just Penny." Once he finished, she looked at her hand, then shrugged, putting her attention back to him.

 • “Well... You new around here, Penny? I am. Literally just showed up to kill that guy you saw me kill, but I might stick around for a while, pick up some more work. I have a feeling it’ll be a fun time, just from what I’ve heard about his place. And the fact that people here are wanted by tons of people sometimes. And I’m just a sucker for getting some extra cash.”

 • "No, never been here before. I follow another around, which is how I got here. Just kinda explore every now and then. Which is how I watched you... kill, that guy...." She trailed off then, and shivered.

 • “Damn. And here I was hoping I struck gold and found someone who could help me navigate and talk to a murderer. Well, nothing to be done now. Guy’s dead. If it’s any consolation, he was possibly one of the scummiest people I’ve ever met. Killed people, countless thefts, couple... Things I won’t mention, bad dude overall. Don’t feel bad for him dying.”

 • “Well, that’s a loss of words on your part, not mine. You know of any major settlements around these parts, or am I already in one? I guessed I was in one, the buildings and shops gave it away.”

 • "This is the only one I know of, yeah. So yeah, this is one." She shrugged, glancing about where they where now. In truth Penny had no idea.

 • “Well then. What exactly are you, Penny? You’re way too clueless to be anything but one of two things. You’re either just created today, or you’re an amnesiac.”

 • “Your tone. It went from happy-go-lucky naive girl to asshole real fast. Whoever programmed you has a sick sense of humor.” He lifts up his prism, staring into it. Hundreds upon hundreds of weapons swirled about the prism. “You have to eat, Penny? Or is that not necessary?”

 • “Just askin’. Then what do you do? Charge? Do you have to change your own batteries out? Double A or triple A?” He chuckles, proud of his own shitty joke. “All joking aside, how do you get more energy then?”
