Competitive (tournament) Multiplayer?

Do you think Destiny should be a game with not just a fun multiplayer, but very popular in the competitive world like Halo is? CoD runs on their multiplayer and gets a lot of people who continue to play their games for years, just for the multiplayer. This is an interesting subject. Do you want Destiny's multiplayer like a Halo/CoD/Tournament style, or just a fun place to play with friends; but also have competitive battles amongst another?
