Just found a gyrados but it effing ran away I hate you nintendo
-
I know you can have up to six people to attack a gym
-
How should I use my stardust and candy? Is it better to evolve or power up
-
The eevee naming thing is buggy. The 1st time I heard about it it worked 4 times. A few days later it doesn't work anymore. Naming eevee sparky and getting flareon and vaporeons now. Either they patched it or its still not 100% guaranteed when you rename it
-
Will making your review that instantly evolve it, or will you use candy to evolve it but it will evolve into that thing?
-
Can you only put a Pokemon in a gym once a day?
-
Also: when you have a Pokémon that has 2 evolutions instead of just 1, wait to evolve them until you have enough candy (125 usually) to do both evolutions. This will ensure you have the strongest possible Pokémon. E.g. say I have a cp 100 Oddish and 25 Oddish candy. I can evolve that Oddish to a gloom (about 200 cp i think) which will take 100 candidate to evolve to vileplume. During the time I am stocking up candy, I run across a cp 300 Oddish. I can have a much stronger gloom and vileplume if I evolve this Oddish instead, but I have been set back 25 Oddish candy instead of needing 125 instead of 96 more after catching the 300 cp oddish.

To hatch eggs faster, walk faster.
Great tip, I know.
Edited by SlayVelociraptor: 7/17/2016 8:51:08 PMSorry, but I should point out that youre wrong about the ring. its color show the aggression level of the pokemon (red-angry, green-not angry) with higher aggression being harder to catch. but if you hit inside this ring, you are given a higher chance of capture. When the ring is smaller amd harder to hit, you are given a higher chance if you hit inside this ring

Eevee trick confirmed, got my own sparky!

Edited by Legend To None: 7/19/2016 10:42:45 PMI found this website it is used to determine how strong a Pokemon will be when evolved. Just enter in the Pokemon and its CP then simply click Evolve. It is a helpful tool for planning.

Edited by kungfublackjack: 7/18/2016 7:28:16 AMMapped bike paths and trails by rivers and lakes are gold mines. Especially if there are a bunch of poke stops along them, which there usually is. P.s. make sure it's a mapped path.

Gyms can be challenged with other people too
-
The game is unplayable right now, i find a bualbasar, a snorlax and a large snake thing, i would have gotten them but it would freeze.

Any tidbits on how pokemon tracking works? Aside from "as footsteps decrease from 3 to 2 to 1, you're getting closer".
-
Your I formation regarding captures is incorrect sadly. I just had this explained to me yesterday and it works counterintuitively to many other games I know. So basically you want to hit your pokeball within the green/yellow/red area. That's what gives you nice/great/excellent ect. So in reality you want to throw the ball when the circle is at its largest and getting nice etc. throws gives you a better chance to catch. Of course Noone really knows at this point as there isn't anything official from Niantic but since I started using this method I'm having a much easier time catching red circle Pokémon compared to when I was trying to wait for it at its smallest point.

Edited by AxelOfTheLight: 7/16/2016 1:14:15 PMHere's a tip for experience grinding. Catch a ton of ratatta and Pidgey. A TON. Use a lucky egg item and evolve them all at once from Pidgey to pigeotto and ratatta to raticate. Profit. 1000xp per evolution This also works with other Pokemon that only cost 12 candy to evolve
-
Any tips on battling or good ways to XP grind?

Bump for later

Edited by bigheadted: 7/16/2016 12:57:15 AMNaming your eevee Rainer will make it vapoereon, naming it Pyro will make it flareon, naming it Sparky makes it Jolteon.
credit to AxelTheFox
I thought this would be useful to add to the main text of the thread.
• You can pick up poké balls by tapping them after you miss. (Video proof) NOTE: You have to do this at a very specific timing which is hard to master..
Everyone I know who believes this failed to notice the number of balls they currently have still decreases when they "picked up their pokeballs". So post video showing the number of balls you have prior to and after each throw and I will believe it
• Pokémon size may influence its max CP. More details on this as they come, but some say the heavier it is, the higher the CP can go.
The max CP of any pokemon can be increased by training them at gyms.
• Wait until the circle around a Pokémon is as small as it can be before tossing a Poké ball. This gives you the greatest chance to catch it!
The circle is actually a skill shot. If you throw a ball and land it inside the circle you will get a bonus. Full size circle - anything greater then 50% = Nice! ; Nice Throw 10 xp 50% - anything larger then ~10% remaining = Great!! ; Great Throw 50 xp Any throw that hits the very center when the circle is about to disappear = Excellent!!! ; Excellent Trainer 100 xp Scoring these bonuses increases your chances if catching the pokemon on the associated throws.
