Guardian Link- Episode 1, Anomaly

Welcome to guardian link! A story about a team of unlikely allies, joining up to fight an unknown harbinger of doom! Tower log 12.5 User- Commander Zavala I really screwed up this time... I sent three guardians to the citadel to investigate a large source of darkness when I meant to send one. This may not sound bad, but one particular guardian I sent is... Special.... Let's just hope this does not end like Phobos. End log Guardian ship. Orbit- Venus. Hunter code name- Garret "How long 'till we're there, ghost?" Asked Garret, the elegantly dressed hunter, polishing his Hawkmoon. "It'll be about three minutes until we land in front of the citadel." Garret's ghost replied. "Awesome. I want you to track down some spirit bloom while we're down here, for later." "Why? We have a bunch of spirit blooms in the ship." "Zavala said something's not right here. We've gotta be prepared for anything." "But why do we nee-" "Hush. You'll see." Guardian on ground. Titan codename- Jolt The citadel was quiet, except for the metallic sound of Vex marching around the cold, hard floor. All was quiet, except the Vex, and the quick sound of footsteps All was quiet, except the thundering sound of a shoulder charge, followed by repeated shotgun blasts. Vex bodies clattered to the floor as Jolt finished her enemies with ease. Strapping her shotgun onto her back. She picked up a goblin's body, still moving. With one quick motion, she ripped the goblin's white core from its body, letting it fall to the ground as it beeped, and continued to the lift that would take her to the top of the citadel. Jolt heard a noise, snapping her attention to her right. She heard something coming up the stairs. Pumping her shotgun, she crawled toward the sound. She saw... The shadow of a hunter. "Why are you here? There's no other missions on the citadel except mine, dirtbag. "What are you talking about? I was sent here to investigate a vast source of darkness for the vanguard! Show her, ghost!" Garret spat out. "She seems a bit scary." Garret's ghost whispered, pulling up his mission. "That's strange, I was sent here for the same thing..." Jolt murmered. "Let's just hope nobody els-" "Hey guys!" Yelled a blue warlock, bouncing up the steps. "Cripes!" Both Jolt and Garret shouted. Upper citadel, Venus "My codename is Bronze, by the way!" The warlock said. "We heard it the first twenty times, Bronze." Jolt muttered, who was surprisingly still sane. The guardians ascended the last set of steps up to the citadel. Garret yelled, unable to see anything. The entire area was dark. Now confused, they brought up their ghost to light the area up. Jolt readied her shotgun, Garret his Hawkmoon, and Bronze his Bad Juju. A shadow flitted past them, catching their attention. They all looked around, confused. Suddenly, Bronze cried out. His ghost lay where he was standing, dead. Jolt backed away slowly. It grew darker and darker. Garret hurried toward the dead ghost. Despite Jolt's complaints. He knelt down next to the ghost, distributing a glowing material from transmat. Jolt went down next. Garret ran toward the stairs, but another shadow flitted into view in front of him. But it wasn't a shadow. It was Jolt's shotgun. Clattering into the ground in front of him. The air went blacker and blacker, until a loud voice yelled. "LEAVE NOW, OR FACE THE MIGHT OF THE DARKNESS." Garret remained where he was, crouching down over the dead ghosts. "NOW!" Garret listened this time, and was out of the citadel within minutes. The Tower, Earth. Vanguard Hall "Guardians do not just dissapear like that, Garret. What happened?" Zavala asked "I was snatched out of thin air, and I just remembered black. Then I was in front of the citadel, commander. I didn't get to see what happened." Jolt replied, harshly. "You saw the ghost logs. Minus the part where Garret stuffed spirit blooms into our ghosts." "Garret. How did you even know that ghost protocol would be of use before you even landed?" Garret spoke. "Well Zavala, before we landed, I could tell that my ghost was emitting a teense less light than usual, so I had to take extra precautions in case my ghost was fried. You're welcome guys, it takes a while to get a few hundred spirit blooms back." "I will discuss this with you later. We will send a team to gather intel and find out what happened. You three, rest. We will need you. All other guardians are busy fighting off a Hive incursion on Earth." "You mean those Cursed Thrall that are closing in on the city?" Bronze said. "Yes, get ready. In the meantime, you will all be assigned to the same Guardian Base. We have no idea what that darkness could have done. And no complaints! I can see you three rolling your eyes through your helmets!" Zavala commanded. Back to Directory
