I Found The Third Man

It's Toland. For a very long time people theorized that the mask of the third man is owned by dredgen yor, but I am here to disprove it. Ever notice how the helm has three eyes? Of course you did. Did you notice that it changes color for each gender? Of course you did. This is why I think so Toland the shattered was the third man to join eris's fireteam. To hide the fireteam In the hell mouth he had to give them the blood of the hive, or an acolyte. My thought Is that Toland killed an acolyte, and used its head to give eris camo against the hive. This is why eris has 3 eyes, due to this helmet with the hive attributes giving her the eyes. This also explains the description. "It wasn't me. It was the third man." It is her using her new found camo to hide from the hive, then saying Toland was the culprit. Any agreements? Post them down below! Thank you

  • The only part I disagree with is why Eris has three eyes. She simply stole them from an acolyte as revenge. However, Toland camouflaging the team does make a lot of sense. In the Emerald Light warlock bond (think back to Year 1), Toland says that it will help disguise Eris amongst the Hive. Also, the Crota's bane hunter cloak talks about becoming one with the dust and shadow to blend in. This is an interesting take on the Third Man. I always thought it was about somebody getting framed for a crime...

    • That sounds very valid, but one part does make sense to my perspectives. I thought eris got her eyes from an acolyte so she could see when the hive trapped her on the hell mouth. So if those were eris's eyes, it would be conflicting. Perhaps the were given to another member, maybe eriana-3?

As cool as a theory that is, I don't think that's how it played out. Third Man Argument
