Akka is alive

Earlier this month, I had a discussion about why Guardians cannot be taken. I believe this is because we have already been reanimated, the Darkness cannot reanimate us for its own purposes. However, this is not my main point. One person mentioned how the Light cannot be Taken. This is false.
How did you take (or rather, un-Take) the Blighted Light that Oryx gathered to offer in sacrifice to Akka, and ignite it so that it burned and burned the Darkness? It was barely Light anymore. But you took it. And when you took it, you did not keep it. You set it free.
After I mentioned this, the Guardian mentioned Akka's death.
Auryx the First Navigator set upon his god with his sword and his words, and cut Akka to pieces, and took from those pieces the secret of calling upon the Deep. He wrote this secret on a set of tablets, which he called the Tablets of Ruin. And he wore them about his waist.
We also know is that Orxy took a piece of Akka and fashioned it into his Deadnaught.
To make his ship, Oryx scrimshawed one piece of Akka, who was dead but far from gone. He stole the Hammer of Xivu Arath and the Scalpel of Savathûn and he armored his ship in baneful armor.
However, Akka is not dead. He resides in a throne world much like Oryx's.
SAVATHÛN said, Auryx my brother and king, I have studied the wounds cut by the Worm our God. Also I have studied the manner of your death and return. These two things are the same, for they are predicated on death and the passage through cut spaces. Let us practice the sword logic until we are sharp. We may then cut our own wounds and step through.
And there you have it. Akka the worm is not gone, we will one day have to face him and his champions.

 • Great post. I think that this goes to prove that the Worm Gods are in fact duping the Hive into believing that they are going to become the Darkness' ultimate truth if/when they destroy all other life. By forcing the Hive to bind themselves to the Worm Gods the Worm Gods have essentially turned the entire Hive race into their own personal energy collectors. The Hive go into the physical realm and kill everything and therefore make the Worm Gods even more powerful in turn and when there is nothing else left the Worm Gods then devour the Hive Gods and thus they become the ultimate truth of the Darkness. Oryx had just become powerful enough to overcome Akka, much as he had overcome his own sisters numerous times to gain his power. However Akka was, as you point out, not destroyed so now Akka is even more powerful than it was before. I believe the reason why Guardians "Cant be Taken" by Oryx is because we are already Taken, just we were taken by the Light instead of the Darkness. Oryx's Taken, as far as I know, do not feed him tribute, he gets that from the physical Hive, therefore the tribute created by his Taken goes directly to the Darkness. When a being is taken they can do "unnatural" things and have new abilities. Is this not the same for Guardians as compared to their original form? Can we not wield weapons of manifested energy and perform skills that are otherwise impossible to a lesser version of our species? I argue that once "taken" whether by the Light (through Ghosts) or the Darkness (by Oryx) you no longer are yourself, you become a conduit of direct energy collection for whichever side you were taken by. This means the Traveler is essentially Akka's and the other Worm Gods, counterpart on the side of the Light and in an attempt to gather energy for the Light, as it will not be able to do so any longer, it created the Ghosts to create "taken" to feed the Light tribute. I personally believe that the Traveler is not benevolent as we are meant to believe. I feel that the Light and the Darkness are two sides of the same coin. The Darkness attempting ultimate victory through destruction of all life that is "unworthy" to choose survival at any cost over death and the Light through the elevation of species it deems worthy to feed it tribute. The Light and the Darkness are only interested in the destruction/removal of the other so that they will be the only "God" left.
