GRIM Challenge Coin
Being in the military, we have certain traditions involved with challenge coins, and I thought it would be a great idea to create one for this clan. I have already messaged Xeropain (permission to utilize his artwork) on the matter and just want to see if the rest of the clan approve or if there are any changes that should be made prior to getting these coins made.
Of course there is always the issue of payment. The artist renditions are free as they are part of the price quoting process, however, getting the coin in your pocket is not. They aren't too expensive... currently sitting at approximately 5.49 USD with 100 coins being struck.

Grim- Latest update from Xeropain: He is painstakingly putting a lot of effort into the website currently, so that is why the response was delayed in regards to the challenge coin. For right now, the main priority will be the successful launch of this clan. The challenge coin may find its way as an item for sale within GRIM merchandise in the future. For those that are impatient to receive these, just hold on and wait to see which squad you are placed in so that the coin will hold more significance to you when and if you are actually able to get one. Update 25 August 2014: Still awaiting the decision from leadership on if this will be a reality or not. Due to a lot of logistics involved, this is not an easy decision to make. Great idea. I think setting it up through the website would make it easier to disperse to everyone, and that way you don't get stuck with tons of coins out of pocket. Set a date to have your order in( kind of like a pre order) and paid for (including shipping) then execute the order and ship out. No excess red tap or hard feeling if someone dosent live up to their end of the agreement since it will be paid for already. Just my 2 cents. Count me in.

These would be sweet!! Early dibs on 88 if they are individually numbered! I think doing preorders via the website would be best. Also I'm sure the cost per coin goes down as you order more due to the artist fees and the mold creation being built into the original quote. In regards to that I have no issue paying like 7.50 for mine to build a small cash reserve or to purchase a larger amount. It would be awesome though for the first 150 orders to get a special coloring or something. In addition if there is going to be merch, can I submit a request for coasters? Like to put your drinks on. In the future I plan for a badass man cave, but at the moment big posters of grimacing skulls in the living room does not really shout "young professional adult". Just saying

Update 20 August 2014 I wrote to the leadership of GRIM to get an idea of the way ahead for this little project. There may be some updates to the design involved and the logistics also need to be thought out. Please be patient and I will inform everybody when we are making progress or if the idea was just too difficult to execute and we had to kill it. I am also doing this on my free time while deployed overseas so I may or may not be available at all times due to operational commitments. Cheers GRIM. haha that last sentence was a hoot. 2 RepliesThat's pretty sweet. I will to send you some logo files so the designer can get them sharp and accurate. Also, Thunder Wolf is now to be to words (I think the mock up I provided had it as 1 originally). PM with an email that works for you and I can send you the files the coin designer will need. Also, I would recommend starting a sign up thread for people that are interested in one. Once there are enough people who want one we may have them created. It may be a while though as buying 100 coins @ $5.49 a coin isn't cheap. Maybe once the website shop is up and people start buying merchandise we will have some money to get these made. I will need to discuss this with the other admins first though but I think it's a cool idea. - Pain

This is not on a donation basis. This is more along the lines of first come first serve as these are priced out for a certain amount of coins being made. I basically have to have a hundred members purchase in order for us all to get them... or I can drop the coin count to 75, but the individual price may increase. I am also waiting on leadership to take a look at this design and when approved, I will get together an order form with payment and shipping options. This may have to be a one man operation... as in I may have to ship out the coins individually once the order arrives.
