Best way to earn money in the Elite Dangerous universe?
Some juan tell me, ive been bounty hunting. Just curious if theres a better way

5 RepliesI enjoy bounty hunting in a Hazardous RES, I'm aligned to Hudson and I'm rank 2, at the moment I get a 50% bonus to my bounties. I can earn about 10 Million in an hour.

Exploration can make a nice change of pace. Its a pretty zen activity, just have to adopt the mentality of a sightseer and actually get close to some of the more interesting planets. Also, if you know what stars to jump to, it can be pretty lucrative. A trip of 800LY out and back again netted me 10 million. I had some good fortune, to be sure. Longer trips can really rack it up though. Just be careful about where you jump, else you'll find yourself sandwiched between two stars, watching your ship and all that scan data go up in smoke :( [spoiler]Also, zero your throttle during every jump. Good habit to get into, it'll save you a headache if you jump into a system with a Black Hole/Neutron Star as its entry point...[/spoiler]

1 ReplyIf you have the money to deck out a viper, hit up a conflict zone. Join a side and make sure not to attack anything by yourself. Let's the npcs do the work. And if anything turns on you that you can't fight, jump out and back in. Made a mil or two in 30 minutes to an hour

Really handy list of stations that sell rares. https://forums.frontier.co.uk/attachment.php?attachmentid=9539&d=1421701372 You can do the rares run for a decent amount of cash but it can be a bit monotonous. Plus for the first half dozen stations you are just collecting so feels like a waste of time but if you persevere you can make lots of money and improve trade rank nicely. Plus I like rares.

I just floated around not really knowing what to do. Have a sidewinder and starter cash but no idea where to go or what to do. Mining seems interesting (played a bit of eve online)

As long as you don't mind carrying weapons, narcotics or slaves. Also, enter the community goals. Easy way to make money just by participating.

If you have a big ship, trading and mining make you a lot of money. I prefer bounty hunting though
