Upgrades for Skolas...
Ok, so I learned some of my Skolas problem was using 331's
Woking on levelling up my Gjally. That's my Exotic slot....
So now what primary/secondary to use?
I have 2 Etheric to spend, and a weapon core.
Here's my available weapons:

Before we get to Skolas, I use Mida, so I think that's good for the first levels at least....
I also have a 365 Solar BTRD.

I switch between Fang and Vision for primary, Found Verdict secondary and Gjally.

3 RepliesI agree with iGOD, if you have a weapon core grab the scout from variks..it'll give you a 365 scout which is good and saves your ethric light just in case you get something better. Also like lando said I'd go for a faster rate of fire shotgun, preferable arc....found verdict would be great if you have it.

I found myself switching between fang of whatever and vision of confluence, would say scout rifle was way to go for primary, and a good high impact shotgun preferably with arc damage as secondary, think I used matador and gally as heavy tho mine wasn't at 365 so did a little less damage. It's all down to personal choice tho, what u feel comfortable with

1 ReplyI'm by no means a Skolas expert, but greedd had me running a shotgun for my secondary. I had picked up the wolfborne oath from Variks so luckily it was already 365. I ended up using my non-ascended, fully upgraded fatebringer (300atk) and my fully upgraded gjallarhorn. The fatebringer seemed to do pretty well, but I did have considerably less kills than greedd and dAAAn (and a lot more assists than both of them). I think some of that is experience and some was the primary. Given the ranges you want to keep the encounter at I'd say pick your favorite scout rifle or hand canon if you are going to ascend a primary. Good luck!

I use scout rifle and shot gun (arc). The scout rifle is good for range and shotgun for them damn captains. Plus side no lightswitch again this week.

2 RepliesI have tried equipping snipers in the past for mine rounds but inevitably enemies start to run in on us and i lament not having a shotgun, i say level that gally and if you have destroy mines in your round track a rocket on to them. I think scouts offer more impact and range as well, so for my money i would use an etheric on a scout to afford me the opportunity to engage in a distanced fight, however if first rule is your go to gun or the one you love for crucible definitely keep one for it, always spend your etherics on what you use, the impact on abyss defiant is wretched but i use it in crucible all the time.
