You're correct. The problem is Christmas noobs complete one normal raid and think they're good enough for hard. Then when they're required to hold the relic in hard, they get rekt. Mistakes are punished much harsher.
I assume a lot of the vets aren't doing it any more.

I still do it maybe once or twice a week! I definitely don't complete it as much as I used to before Xmas! I have to find random fire teams :(

Yes too many Christmas noobs thinking they are legit raiders after one normal run. On a worser note, I've seen level 30s jump into hard vog as their first raid without ever looking up how to run through vog.

Another problem is people being able to get 32 without doing a single VoG
