If there is one thing that I have been noticing Bungie wants in this game is decision making. They want their players to make decisions, especially when it comes to trade offs. It is shown in their recent weapon balancing and in their perk trees on each class and sub-class.
I propose that Destiny will be a better all around game with a stamina system.
THE REASON
Destiny is a fast paced game. Bullets fly fast, we jump around, use our supers, and slide everywhere. But what is the trade off for all this fast paced action? Is there really a decision to be made whether I should sprint, jump or use my super? No. I just do it, because there is no penalty for my character.
There needs to be some trade offs for sprinting, sliding around, and using supers.
HOW IT COULD WORK
Whenever a character goes into sprint mode there should be a green bar that appears below your health bar that shows how you can long you can sprint for. This would make it less of a non-stop sprint mode and more of a decision to travel fast. Skyrim did a really good job of this. Do you run or do you sprint and use your stamina?
Another way it could work is when using a super. A super would use up half of your stamina bar. Thus, if you were below half of your stamina left, you could not sprint and slide away, but rather jog away.
HOW IT WOULD HELP
For one, it would slow the pace of the game a bit. Now I know that might sounds bad, but hear me out. Think about patrol mode. How often do you jog around, rather than sprint? Oh, you never do? That is what I thought. I never jog either, I sprint everywhere. A stamina system would ease the pace of Patrol. Allowing the player to absorb more of their environment.
It would also create a decision that has to be made by the player to sprint over to those mobs or to jog over to save their stamina in case they need to sprint away to safety.
FEEDBACK
What do you think? Post your thoughts below.
And please remember, these are my opinions, nothing more.

Wouldn't fit in with the lore of the game too well. Exo's are robots that don't suffer from exhaustion like a human or awoken might. But at the same time being empowered by the light certainly grants some of its own bonus'. We're zombies after all, no matter how many times we're knocked down we always get back up. You wouldn't expect a zombie to have stamina right? RIGHT?!

Shut up

Hell no. You shouldn't be allowed to post anything on here for an eternity after this shit.
-
It would destroy the pace of the game if more limitations were introduced There are already cooldowns for major movements which can mean the death of u. "Absorbing" your environment isn't exactly useful, in pvp players should already be used to predicting movements & map awareness
-
I would not like to see this. More stuff to juggle. radar and amount of ammo are enough to juggle while trying to shoot straight. I don't ever think I want to say "sorry I died. I could not jump behind the rock fast enough... Out of stamina"
-
Stamina would be horrible is Destiny. Its already slow paced compared to some games, have to walk 3/4 of the time would make the game so boring.
-
Not a bad idea it would certainly make it slower and you would notice more of the environment.
-
I kinda hate this idea! Good on you for the effort though.
-
Yeah there is somewhat stamina, the little hesitation before running again
-
Horrible idea. This isn't skyrim. The reason the game is so good is because of the best game mechanics of any shooter out. No matter what you think about the story or loot system there is no comparison for pure game mechanics. Go play cod and come back. You'll notice the difference.
-
Patrols are boring as crap. Bad idea there :P
-
Bruh, space magic fuels your stamina with infinite energy, that is how you reach the climax when your super bar is full
-
Really? Stamina is one step away from the stupid "battery" rundown on flashlights. It's a hassle, only exists to force players to do certain things and Destiny is fine without it. Why would you intentionally put something in the game that griefs players? Bungie needs to fix other problems before adding yet another speed bump to progress.
-
So your asking to have limited sprint in a huge open world where sprinting to an objective or event is crucial, and you want to add a limit to sprint hence makin it harder to reach the target? Same goes for Crucible. In the end adding a sprint meter in will be a horrible move. So no

Shut up

Besthesda cofirmed.

If they made everything packed into a smaller area sure make sprinting fade. Otherwise leave it alone. I used to always hate running out of stamina on games. It definitely doesn't make it fun.
-
I know you didn't just use the words
Skyrim did a good job
No support, I enjoy sprinting tirelessly in PvE content, and I don't need sprint that much in PvP.
