For the reason most are replying with, that alot of the enemies in the level 28-32 category are often to plentiful to take out with a shotgun, plus their range is often more than a shotgun can handle. Most of the strike missions don't really lend themselves to using a shotgun, with the exception of the Sepics first room with the Servitors.

It is pretty sad when bosses have the AOE attack that just decimates you if you try to get too close with shotgun. I've done most of the strikes using shotgun as much as I could and it's viable as off-weapon, I love using it the most in the Undying Mind PS4 exclusive strike and Psion Flayers one. Really shines there.

I'm gunna start doing that just to shake things up a bit. But it is really sad when the bosses have weapons a ton more powerful than ours and they outnumber us sometimes 30 or more to 1. Take the 3 Eris missions, they're seriously insane and I doubt I could beat them by just using a shotgun. Hell, its even tough beating them with the weapons I have now!!!! But if they do make the shotguns 100 percent more powerful I'll give them a try. Cheers

Yeah I'd wouldn't use the shotgun on the ogre. But I'd use it on most enemies there. Bosses it's just something you can't do, except on Psion Flayers. :)
