Triple. A. Title.
Edit #1- Wow I got a ton of feedback from posting this. Glad to see there are so many guardians out there still voicing their opinions. Also, on a side note, I just want to make it clear that I did not create this video.
Lets hope threads like this may change Bungie's strategies for story telling in the future. Although the concept of the Grimoire is a great ADDITION to a story, and unclear narratives can sometimes lead to community driven story telling, I cannot help but feel that the lack of a cohesive story in Destiny is a result of poor planning, budget cuts, or laziness on Bungie's side.
Thanks again for the feedback guardians, keep it coming, and keep your light safe.
Edit #2- Broke 900, soon to be 1000! Lets keep the conversation rolling. Also I would like to address one point.
This video does indeed use information presented in the Grimoire cards. However, the praise I am giving is directed at the way this narrative is PRESENTED by the creator of the video. I feel that the way this information was organized in the video is much more effective than any way it was presented by Bungie themselves. Time and effort was put into the creation of this video to make sure the player understood lore, actual events in game, as well as symbology related to the story that is told. This, in my opinion, seems like a much more caring way to present a narrative.

Holy Shit, this dude sent goose bumps down my spine. What a compelling and talented video and its creator/narrator! THIS IS WHAT BUNGIE SHOULD HAVE DONE!!!! Bungie needs to hire this dude to write the story for them!
-
This is absolute brilliance! It begs the question to Bungie: How can a person using a shoe string budget make this wonderful storyline backstory while you Bungie with $500 million can't give us any story at all? This should replace all those stupid cards right away. Hire this person immediately or you are abject idiots.
-
Finally I understand the story!
-
Amazing, bungie, this in snippets would of been great for a grimoire in game. This guy did it solo in 3 months lol. You have how many developers? This is proof Activision is watering the shit out of this intellectual property

So creative and compelling! Say what you will about the game but it brings intrigue and imagination proven by this video. It has many flaws but it's potential is endless. Will it live up to that potential? Time will tell. In the meantime, enjoy what we have and continue to critique and submit creative ideas to benefit the game and the community.

So many great story ideas with so much potential but so neglected by their creator. Such a shame. This is great. I wish it were in the game.

Edited by Tekn0z: 2/5/2015 4:14:33 PMBump. I'm at work gonna watch it late.r Keep bumping this. And let Deej know how crappy of a story/presentation the game currently has and how it can be done so much better. You can't even implement in-game Grimoire cards…. Jeez.

Commenting to watch later

Terrible...

really well done, well worded and nicely edited. though id like to hear it done with Bill Nighy(not that that'll ever happen)
-
Really enjoyed this!

Do people actually think that $500MM is a lot of money for ten year project? I don't think it is. In fact based on comments from DeeJ (there are 500 developers, working on this game) that amount would mostly be taken up just from salaries. I don't know what developers get paid, I assume they are close to slave labour though, 50-60k a year?? That doesn't include, infrastructure costs, marketing, rent, distribution, and probably a bunch of other costs I am not aware of since I am not in this industry.

Watched every minute. Very cool!

Great stuff.

If Ekora Ray went down with Eris, how come she is in the tower? I thought only Eris survived?
