The pressures on Venus result in hotter temperatures when you average the whole planet. Remember Mercury has one side that is cold as -blam!- not facing any of the Suns radiation. Also this is the future, if we have terraformed Venus to the point where it has gravity and organic life on the surface, then why is it so weird for Mercury to be in a similar situation.
