Why MERCURY isn't in the Game
Guys,
Mercury can't be in the game because it's the hottest planet in the solar system. It basically touches the Sun's CMEs and we would all be dead immediately due to radiation and heat. Why do people want to go to a molten rock and fight the vex? These things blow my mind.
Why do people keep saying VENUS is hotter than Mercury? You guys need to learn the order of the planets.

you realize the burning shrine map is on mercury right? and while we're talking science and realistic physics in destiny, what's with all the planets having identical gravity?

Our current knowledge is irrelevant. We don't know what the traveler has done to terraform the planets. Maybe the orbit has been changed to make all of the planets inhabitable. Isn't there a pvp map for Mercury?

It's a video game. Think about everything that happens in this game. Think about everything you've seen and done. Think about the planets and how they are represented in this game. Then think about why you are trying to apply real science and logic to this fictional game world.

3 RepliesThe Traveler made it a GARDEN world, and had capabilities of giving each and every celestial body within the Sol system an atmosphere of its own. It had the powers to make jungles on VENUS, which currently in real life is a gas, volcanic deathtrap. Originally you would be right, as Even going near Mercury would burn a human lifeform. But in the sense of the story and the power of the Traveler, anything is possible.

Aslo Venus IS hotter than mercury because of the Greenhouse effect it's shitty atmosphere has on it. Mercury is closer but venus is still hotter.

Actually, OP's bait would be kind of accurate in terms of the Milky Way as it's portrayed in Destiny.Since Venus and Mercury had been turned into garden world's, their temperatures would have fallen significantly and with humanity losing Mercury and all it's heated back up whereas Venus hasn't.

Personally, I have always been more irritated by the consistent reliability of in-game devices. For instance, why should your spaceship always work properly? It would be much more interesting if every now and then your ship fails to start and then you have to get a tow-ship to take it to an airplane mechanic and then you cant play your game for two-weeks because you are waiting for the replacement parts to arrive and they were outsourced to a colony on Mars and even with plasma-drive technology its still takes two weeks for them to ship the parts over to your mechanic on Earth. You know, things like that...
