Guys,
Mercury can't be in the game because it's the hottest planet in the solar system. It basically touches the Sun's CMEs and we would all be dead immediately due to radiation and heat. Why do people want to go to a molten rock and fight the vex? These things blow my mind.
Why do people keep saying VENUS is hotter than Mercury? You guys need to learn the order of the planets.

Nice.
-
Do you even PVP bro?
-
We can teleport and resurrect from the dead. I'm sure the temperature isn't why.
-
We have already been there in the crucibe theres a map called burning shrine which is in mercury so all i want is that to be an actual planet that we can patrol on do missions strikes and raids
-
Mercury was converted to a machine planet within days according to Ghost. It will happen. Mercury will be released as a Vex DLC. As hot as mercury is, the Vex may have Terra formed the entire planet. We don't know much detail as to how Bungie will release the story.
-
Hmmm, there is a crucible map on mercury. Aaand the vex been there. Seems like the whole planet is theirs (as stated when you fly to the nexus strike) - and who knows what they did ;)
-
last' time i checked it was. I played a crucible match in it. your point is invalid, Bungie don't give a blam bout your science
-
Isnt The Burning Shrine Map Take Place On The Planet Mercury?
-
Edited by TRIPODI44: 2/3/2015 9:42:22 PMMercury IS is the game dude do you ever play PVP? Ever heard of the burning shrine?
-
I think Bungie is saving Mercury for a future dlc pack. Ahamkaras were said to be gigantic dragons in ancient times that could only be hunted down by the strongest of Warlocks. I believe Bungie is going to release a dlc with a new planet (Mercury) and new enemies (ahamkaras) in the distant future. I for one think a giant dragon raid boss would be epic.

This is a stupid argument as there is no such thing as space in the real world anyway.
-
space magic can make anything happen
-
Venus rains acid in real life
-
hottest map in the solar system is venus because of its atmosphere and large amount of volcanic activity. Even so mercury was terraformed by the traveler in the golden age to make it habitable. The reason Mercury is not in the game is because they are most likely saving it.
-
To clear people up. Venus' average temperature is hotter than Mercury's because all of that heat can't escape venus' thick atmosphere, while mercury no longer has an atmosphere due to being burned off from being so close to the sun. So mercury does get much hotter than Venus during they day, but since mercury has no way of keeping any of that heat in, it becomes extremely cold during night. To the op though, technically we would instantly melt if we ever stepped on Venus too. The burning shrine map is on mercury, so we do technically play on mercury.
-
Venus is hotter becuz of the atmosphere, I'm fairly sure Mercury has little atmosphere which means it can retain any of the heat collected

No one seems to realize that your name is b8er
-
Actually Venus is the hottest planet because of the gas in its atmosphere and traps the heat inside causing it to be the hottest.
-
Venus is just gasses you couldn't even survive!
-
We go to Mercury in PVP... Also given that Bungie throws all physics and facts out the window with regards to the planets in general, there's no reason we can't go to Mercury. If the Traveler can terraform Venus, which in itself is impossible given that you can't even put a probe in the atmosphere without it melting and being crushed, than we can play on Mercury, Jupiter, etc. Even Bioware didn't try to colonize or do anything with Venus in Mass Effect, which says something. However it appears the Traveler's space magic can even override the laws of physics and the universe.
-
Actually Venus is the hottest
-
B8er. Always forgetting to add the #satire
-
Venus is also extremely hot and has an ungodly greenhouse effect
-
I figure that the vex fully took over mercury, and the pvp map is the only area in mercury that the guardians have retaken.

Edited by Cobalt: 2/3/2015 9:48:57 PMSo...why then, can we go to the burning shrine? And are the guardian suits really not prepared for this? Come on man.
