Guys,
Mercury can't be in the game because it's the hottest planet in the solar system. It basically touches the Sun's CMEs and we would all be dead immediately due to radiation and heat. Why do people want to go to a molten rock and fight the vex? These things blow my mind.
Why do people keep saying VENUS is hotter than Mercury? You guys need to learn the order of the planets.

Its a sci-fi game with fictional lore, that is loosely based on what we know of our solar system In that lore, the traveler made these worlds inhabitable to humans, there were cities on most planets before the collapse, the reason we can't explore mercury PvE because the Vex own it, it's pretty much like machine city in Matrix Revolutions, it would be suicide to step foot there without an armada
-
In the story, parts of mercury have been preserved by Osiris for protection from the sun and the other harming elements of Mercury.
-
Dude, it's a game that you have supers that spray balls of explosives from an asshole, and you fight aliens. Anything possible in gaming..
-
The real question is why Uranus isn't in the game
-
I guess no one remembers the into video where the Speaker claims Mercury became a garden world...
-
I would have hated it. Just the crucible lvl is too damn bright
-
Why is there a Crucible map on Mercury, but Mercury is a place we can't explore?
-
Well Venus is still 200 degrees so we should've died there too
-
There's a crucible map on Mercury
-
Activision.
-
Mercury is not molten. In fact, it's frozen on one side. Go back to 3rd grade.
-
Actually venus is the hottest planet because of its high greenhouse gas concentration. This is all irrelevant though as the traveler can change the gravitational pull and atmosphere of a planet.
-
I know this is troll, or whatever, but I do think the only way the traveller could've even made Mercury a garden planet would be to alter it's orbit. Can't hold an atmosphere as close as it currently is.
-
Venus is the hottest planet, due to its toxic clouds trapping all the heat in the planets surface. But thanks to the traveler, all the planets are liveable.
-
Mercury is in the game - if you play PvP.
-
I, for one, am waiting for the sun to be playable. And you truly are the master, B8er. I r8 8/8.
-
This just sounds like common sense
-
THE BURNING SHRINE. THE BURNING SHRINE. THE BURNING SHRINE. THE BURNING SHRINE. THE BURNING SHRINE. THE BURNING SHRINE. THE BURNING SHRINE. It's in the game. 😐
-
Um, do you play Crucible?
-
The thing is the vex have made it habitable...you need to pay attention to in game details! It says it in the story, the vex took over the planet and made it all vex-y :)
-
How can we play on the pvp map but not on the whole planet like earth and venus
-
But it is. Multiplayer map Bregh
-
The real reason Mercury is not in the game "yet" is because just walking into a Vexed planet would not be the greatest idea for any guardian. Yes I know we can access the burning shrine but perhaps in the comet we will be able to full truly traverse Mercury.
-
Just cause it's closer doesn't mean it's hotter. Freaking idiot
-
Venus is hotter, it's where the women are.

Edited by SentientWisper: 2/5/2015 11:49:10 PMIn science Venus is hotter, it has a denser atmosphere that keeps more heat in, so Venus is hotter than Mercury, science wise and mythology wise, if anyone knows what I mean
hint hint wink wink nudge nudge giggety
