when is a christmas noob no longer a Christmas noob?
Is it after their first raid?
Just to clarify I have had this game since release(a few weeks after) so I am not a Christmas noob.

Have more exotics then they know what to do with. *3 characters with most recent raid gear. *When they learn to check that veteran player is in group and stop -blam!-ing harrasing them to run them thru strikes and holding hands thru raids. *stop hoping on team chat and saying dumb shit when group of 6 is doing raid. *stop crying for strange coins. *have the subclasses completed and know how to use them in given situation. *when they realize level 31 is not level 32...i.e. joining a fireteam who needs and post for lvl 32 player for HM crota and your xmas noob dumbass hops in and says im lvl 31.55...*fail*.
