I absolutely love the MIDA. It's my favorite weapon. My only complaint is that the "hair trigger" perk really isn't a hair trigger. The gun doesnt fire as fast as I can pull the trigger, which really sucks.

I keep R2 depressed 80% and just kind of rock it slightly to fire. I find it fast and easy this way, but it's just something your fingers learn themselves if you keep firing the weapon for a few hours I think

Edited by Drking7287: 2/1/2015 1:55:57 PMHair trigger does not and never has meant fires as fast as you can pull the trigger. It's a term taken from real life where all semi auto weapons fire as fast as you can pull the trigger. A gun with a hair trigger has a modified trigger system that allows the gun to fire with very, very little pressure applied to the trigger. It's called a hair trigger bc it's exaggerated that if a hair brushed the trigger it would fire. This allows the shooter to fire the weapon with much less anatomical movement. Less movement means less sway in the gun and more accuracy. It's wasted on a gun in a video game bc trigger pull and hand movement doesn't affect the virtual guns movement. In conclusion the perk does exactly what it's supposed to do.
It's wasted on a gun in a video game bc trigger pull and hand movement doesn't affect the virtual guns movement.
That... would be false! The perk has it's (arguably fairly limited) uses. Just like in real life, guns in Destiny require you to pull the R2/RT analog button nearly all the way for your virtual gun to fire. Most handcannons offer a prime example of this as you can actually see the cork pulling back when you gently pull the trigger. MIDA's perk simply ensure the weapon fires at the slightest pull of the trigger. Try it out. I might be wrong, but I think Bungie simulated the gain in réaction time and accuracy by boosting target aquisition.

Edited by Drking7287: 2/1/2015 2:23:17 PMYes but the purpose of a hair trigger is to reduce the movement of the finger and transference of that movement to the gun. There is zero transference of movement with a controller so yeah it fires with less pull but that doesn't really help anything. Btw I'm not hating on mida it's my second favorite gun in the game but the exotic perk is only exotic for the speed. I couldn't care less about hair trigger.

Learn where the point is on the trigger that it fires. You only need to gently squeeze it. Once you find that point as quick as you put the cross-hairs on target you can fire the next round.
-
The hair trigger is more of a timing thing, it actually works once you get the time down it fires slightly faster. Either way it's a wrecking ball, my favourite weapon by a long shot
-
Hair trigger means that it goes before you pull the trigger all the way, not that it goes as quickly as you can pull the trigger. B-line Trauma is almost that fast though
-
There is no point to hair trigger if it doesn't fire any faster
-
It does fire faster, but not last word fast. It improves reaction time basically. If you and someone else start pulling the trigger at the same time you will shoot them first because they had to pull the trigger all the way.
-
This is true. I guess I just wish it meant that I can fire it faster lol
-
It's already the second fastest firing scout (behind b-line and crypt dweller) and its does way more damage and had better knock back than either of them
-
Yeah, it truly is my favorite gun in the game
-
False advertising on the gun. Initially, I thought I could fire at Auto rifle speed. But if that were the case, it would easily be overpowered.
-
Edited by Raggamuffin: 2/1/2015 7:29:29 PMAnd how is this false advertising?
-
I can't fire that fast, but I do pull the trigger faster than the alloted speed.
-
The gun is already limited at its fire rate, so you can't go any faster than the gun permits. Even still, it is my all time favorite weapon the game. Icebreaker and gjallahorn are great, but I truly love the MIDA. Easy headshot machine.
-
Definitely an easy head shot machine.

I don't disagree with that.
