Hey all! I think we can agree that the more you put into a game, the more you should get out of it. Time, effort... and money. Not just in-game currency, but our hard-earned cash. That's right, I am suggesting microtransactions be added to Destiny. These would be purchased in the Tower, from Special Orders. Why? Because with the revenue generated from microtransactions, DLC's and expansion content can be offered at a reduced price! Everybody wins!
Here's a list of what I've come up with so far:
Glimmer packs (offered in various scales)
Heavy Ammo packs ($1 for 5)
Strange Coins/Motes of Light($1 for 3)
Engram packs ($1 for 3 blue engrams, $3 for 1 legendary engram)
Exotic packages ($10 for an exotic engram for the slot of your choice, heavy engrams are $15)
XP buff ($4 for 15% buff)
Destination materials ($1 for 100 of your choice)
Exotic shards ($1 for 2)
Raid Starter Pack ($10 for a random 2 pieces of Crota armor and random 2 normal mode weapon drops)
Subclass Max! ($15 to max out a character subclass)
Ascendant > Radiant materials ($1 to exchange 5)
Add yours to the list!

I really really wish people would quit making these posts. More infuriating than seeing 5 different "i'm xur AMA" threads.

No micro transactions, they kill games
-
NO. Micro transactions are destroying gaming. Just no. -blam!- NO.
Here's a list of what I've come up with so far: Glimmer packs (offered in various scales)
no real need at all
Heavy Ammo packs ($1 for 5)
bad deal, nobody would buy
Strange Coins/Motes of Light($1 for 3)
most people have a high surplus, none would buy
XP buff ($4 for 15% buff)
pretty good Destination materials ($1 for 100 of your choice)
Exotic shards ($1 for 2)
bad deal
Raid Starter Pack ($10 for a random 2 pieces of Crota armor and random 2 normal mode weapon drops)
do not need. Pay2win shouldn't ever be an option
Subclass Max! ($15 to max out a character subclass)
p2w is never the answer
Ascendant > Radiant materials ($1 to exchange 5)
maybe I personally say cosmetic changes are the best way to go because in every game I've played that has a cash shop, the fashion and dyes are always the best sellers. Temp costumes (15 or 30 days) $5 Permanent costumes $15 Random shader pack (very low chance of "legendary") $2 5 temp helmet skins (like Halloween) $1 Exotic sparrow 15 or 30 day (fancy skins like Santa sleigh or give speeder) $7 Permanent exotic sparrow $20 Exotic ship 15-30 day (Special skins) $10 Permanent exotic ship $30 Random ghost shell pack (extremely low exotic chance) $3 Temp weapon skin(pack of 10) $3

No...just stop..
-
Just no.

Screw you! This will ruin the immersive feel if the game

No transactions this game lacks weapon and armor diversity already. Allowing lazy people access to payment option will degrade this game even more.....
-
Gies just repot the thread

This game should not be pay to win Time = $$$ $$$ = Time I think micro transactions would only work with strange coins, everyone already has access to strange coins. We even have surplus coins in some cases. Time (on this game) = x•RNG X•RNG = exotics Exotics = Xur Xur = strange coins So finally $$$= strange coins With this comes the question of ratio. Hard playing people already have a lot of coins and introducing another avenue to collect them can create an inflation effect (I know it doesn't actually affect any other player other than themselves) So the rich(in coins) wouldn't be considered "rich" and this concept would turn away a lot of players. This means the the $$$ ratio needs to be high. I would like to propose a 1coin 1$ ratio. It's incredibly high and not a good deal, only the desperate would buy into it. But you've heard about all the people always just coming up short a few coins for Xur. There really is a demand for it. We all want a better game. And our developers can produce one for us. They just need the cash :(

Id be down for some shader packs or ships, but anything else would ruin the game.
-
Wtf?!! Worst idea ever! Someone please delete this crap
-
This is a brilliant idea!

Terrible idea...

You are the worst. Shut up and go far far away!!!!!!

-
You should go play wow or diablo if you want this trash. Trading and micro transactions ruin games
-
-
Here's a brainstorm: -blam!- micro transactions. -blam!- them into oblivion. Free to play is one thing, but Devs or publishers adding these to full price games makes me sick to my ass. Destiny felt like a mobile game from the get go, please don't make it worse. (Doesn't the director feel like it was made for a touch screen?).

I say shaders.. But that's just me

Edited by Sora Orth: 2/1/2015 5:00:35 AMAdding pay to win destroys games kid, if this game adds micro trance actions we would have bigger problems then a small vault
