Yes, because I like to level up different loadouts of armour to compliment different exotics, so I've got a choice of what to wear depending on subclass or perks provided.
I haven't worried about them too much for a while, but I've started to run low on Asc shards so I've started to do them again.
Plus you need to be stockpiling them for when HOW drops, this is one of the reasons I stay at level 30 instead of going to 31. (I don't raid, so 32 is never gonna be an option)

Bungie stated a couple weeks ago that the vendor gear will not match the Crota cap they made a mistake when they did it this last time. They openly admitted they shouldn't have done that and it won't happen again. Also since you missed it they are going to put in a new way to upgrade our exotics for when the HoW drops so we don't need to fully level them again. So thinking of just skipping a raid to stay at the level cap will no longer help.

Oh! No I didn't read that, I'm not bothered about raiding, but I like doing the nightfalls and top level weeklies, is that no longer going to be an option for me then? Unless I get raid gear? Seems a bit harsh....
