Why would the furthest planet from the Sun not be covered in ice and look like a desert? Space Magic? These things confuse me

Edited by ProximaCent4uri: 1/28/2015 9:59:24 AMMars is the 4th rock from the sun and it's actually a browny color, the iron oxide in the "atmosphere" is what makes it look red to us . obviously Mars doesn't have a breathable atmosphere.
